Director - Online Advertising - Oracle - Redwood Shores


Job description
This position oversees the planning and execution of corporate advertising campaigns in North America. You will work cross-functionally with key stakeholders in field-marketing, sales, marketing operations, social, events and PR on developing a go-to-market ad plan. You will also oversee a team of talented Advertising Managers and agency staff who manage the day-to-day responsibilities. Position reports to our Senior Director of Global Advertising and Paid Search.

Responsibilities

Based at Oracle’s HQ in Redwood Shores, CA, the North America Advertising Director has the responsibility of overseeing all US online advertising campaigns. You will work with your peers in paid search, media analytics and awareness (creative/print/OOH) to create unified campaigns for the products areas we support.



In this role, you will manage a team of Advertising Managers who oversee the day-to-day planning and execution of assigned initiatives. You will ensure that objectives align with advertising goals and deliver the best possible mix of media for individual campaign success.



The HQ role is a unique one in that in addition to the core regional responsibilities, all Non-US regional counterparts (LATAM, EMEA, APAC) are highly reliant on the HQ teams to provide content, creative assets, high-level strategic guidance and support from which they run their region-specific advertising programs.



Responsibilities Include:

Plan, execute and measure online advertising efforts across North America
Participate in annual global strategy planning, budget allocations by product, and advertising mix
Communicate strategy/budgets to Product & Campaigns Marketing to incorporate their key messaging & goals into integrated advertising programs balancing overall ad strategy
Provide regular executive overviews and updates, manage expectations and balance them against HQ requirements
Management and responsibility for internal staff and direct agency relationships
Continue to build and retain an excellent team, developing internal talent and setting clear goals and objectives
Mentor direct reports & extended agency teams to drive greater understanding of our business and needs.
Communicate with and build relationships with sales leaders
Constantly strive to improve perception of advertising and the quality of the data that we provide as well as providing reports and materials they need to help them with follow ups
Overall responsibility for in-region planning and project management
Oversee and manage the planning and buying of online media activity
Ensure that we deliver on our goals, optimise our campaigns and meet and improve on our KPIs
Development of Oracle planning decks for presentation to heads of marketing
Creation and presentation of advertising briefing decks to product campaign leaders
Creation, maintenance and presentation of advertising campaign workbooks
Implementation of reports
Monitoring of success of campaigns and optimisation
Assist with local one-off advertising recommendations (for activity not supported by corporate budget)

Desired Skills and Experience
Preferred Requirements Include:

12+ years direct advertising (Account Management and/or Media) experience strongly preferred; either client or agency side advertising experience is ideal (having both is a big plus)
Bachelor’s degree (MBA a plus, but not requirement)
Knowledge of Oracle, tech industry and/or B2B enterprise software and/or hardware experience a big plus
Demonstrable ability to communicate with people at all levels, excellent presentation skills (especially PowerPoint) a must, and strong leadership/ people management skills
Deep knowledge of media planning, buying, analytics, creative development and strategy
You must be self-motivated, flexible, and highly organized; you must be able to manage multiple projects at once
Problem solving, ability to work independently and make decisions, conflict management skills, accuracy/attention to detail, with a global mindset
