Job description
POSITION SUMMARY: This role is responsible for generating ideas to provide productivity, reduce packaging material and solve packaging sustainability problems and then see them through to execution. This would include light weighting, new package commercialization, eliminating package quality defects and ensuring package and pallet stability



POSITION ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director will:

Leads the development, commercialization and optimization of primary, secondary, tertiary and promotional packaging for the $4.4 billion in spend for CCR and other CCBSS members and participants in North America. Also, plays an instrumental leadership role in the CCR's Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability program concerning packaging sustainability.

Manages 11 packaging technology project managers. Leads and/or participates in numerous cross-functional project teams involved in packaging optimization and commercialization. Initiatives are driven from marketing needs, economics, quality, manufacturing and the environment.

Works collaboratively with Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, Finance, Public Affairs, CCNA and Global R&D, and suppliers to optimize packaging value for the system. 

This role requires program management expertise across multiple categories, business partner knowledge, excellent communication and influencing skills, and the ability to manage direct reports and lead complex initiatives.

Required Education And/Or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
10 years experience managing teams/ project management
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver results
Expertise in innovation, supply chain or technical functions
Preferred Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Packaging or similar
