Media Director - Visa - Foster City
Position Summary
Come join Visa as part of the North America Marketing team, as a Media Director focused on marketing to our consumers. This Media Director position is responsible for developing and implementing holistic media plans to support the U.S. country initiatives. The ideal candidate deeply understands the changing media landscape, is equally adept planning against digital, social and traditional channels, has a wealth of agency experience (working at and/or managing) and is driven to create breakthrough work across all channels. The key to this job is having a strong strategic mindset, unparalleled digital acumen, amazing communication skills, and the passion to execute flawlessly.
Specific Requirements
Spearhead media planning across Consumer and Co-marketing (e.g. Merchant and Issuer) campaigns for core Visa products and services
Manage agency teams responsible for planning, buying and optimization for digital, social, mobile, traditional and experiential media
Drive innovation and optimization across media ecosystem in service of helping to evolve Visa’s go-to-market approach
Serve as crucial liaison with Co-Marketing partners to kick-start planning process and mutually beneficial planning approach
Manage the development of key consumer insights gleamed from primary and secondary research sources
Collaborates with internal Product/IT and external agency functions on the development and implementation of advertising tracking tools
Lead development of best practice training, guidelines and cases for both internal (Visa Marketing) and external (Clients and Marketing Partners) constituents
Qualifications
8+ years of media/marketing/advertising agency experience, with planning expertise across the entire media ecosystem (from digital, social and mobile to TV, OOH and Radio)
8+ years of digital, social and mobile media planning experience
5+ years managing holistic media agency teams
Understand how media impacts a consumer’s circuitous decision journey (from awareness, consideration, conversion, advocacy)
In-depth knowledge of programmatic buying is strongly preferred
Experience in business development (e.g. working with Sales to build out and present marketing portions of RFP proposals) is strongly preferred
