Director - Process Engineering - R&D - Ellucian - Fairfax

Ellucian is seeking a skilled Process Engineering Director to support our R&D Business Unit. The qualified candidate will apply process improvement, re-engineering methodologies and best practices to design and implement continuous improvement in our software development methodology. Drive the cross-functional analysis, evaluation and assessment of process improvement and process streamlining recommendations. The candidate will be responsible for establishing performance measures and monitoring and analyzing performance metrics to identify and implement performance based improvements. Primary responsibilities include the development, rollout and adoption of Agile Scrum development methodology and tools across all project teams. This also includes training and coaching the Scrum teams. Measure and track continuous improvement of process maturity to ensure that process improvement initiatives result in measurable improvement.

Job Responsibilities

• Minimum 10 years in project development in a software company and 15+ years of process and project management experience with increasing complexity, including managing multi-geographic division or enterprise-wide projects.
• Responsible for 5 direct reports
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Software or related discipline.
• Experience with Agile Scrum Software Development Methodology.
• Experience with managing the full Software Development Lifecycle.
• Experience with managing the successful rollout and adoption of software development process improvements across a large R&D organization.
• Experience as a software developer and software development manager.
• Experience with metrics design; six sigma training preferred.
• Experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams across multiple time zones and geographic locations.
