Overall Purpose: Plans and implements activities for achieving the organizations legislative objectives to include: developing, implementing and maintaining policies and programs to ensure the organizations awareness of and impact on federal and state legislation activities.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Plans, coordinates and implements strategies to promote the organizations point of view to federal and state legislators and regulators. Directing the analysis of legislative bills to determine impact on AT&T and appropriate action. Establish and maintain contacts with key legislators and government officials, business leaders, civic and community leaders.
Directing the presentation of company positions to elected officials, third party stakeholders and company officers, executives, and managers. Directs lobbying activities and implements AT&T External Affairs activities and community relations positioning for achieving the organizations legislative, regulatory and operational objectives. Directs and participates in maintaining contacts with key civic, government, community, and business leaders to ensure understanding and support for company objectives.

May research Federal and State Election Laws and develop Political Action Committees (PAC) Guidelines. Coordinates and funds PACs and carries out political education. May develop and implement PAC strategies, interface with federal and state agencies in administration of PAC activities, and ensure corporate compliance to applicable regulations. Directs the planning and implementation of AT&T's foundation grants, contributions, subscriptions, and memberships to help the company meet its stakeholder objectives. Directs grassroots programs for federal and state legislative activities to generate constituent support for company objectives. Supports regulatory interactions with Federal and State regulatory commissions.

Education: Bachelors Degree preferred.

Experience: Typically requires 10 or more years of experience.
