The Senior Director will be the overall IT leader accountable for Back to Basics (BtB) Global Template design, maintenance and delivery. He/she will be responsible for managing demand intake, forecasting, resource planning and financial management for IT services within the CoE; leads the governance and design of the SAP Global Template to meet new business capabilities; manages software vendor relationships, partnerships, fees, licensing; owns the overall BtB ecosystem including all SAP systems, bolt-ons and integrations to other systems; leads the integration and transition leveraged SAP resources and services across J&J where applicable; provides Phase 0 support for SAP Global Template solution estimates, supply planning, scheduling, roadmap integration and assumptions; partners with Application Services (AS) Production Support, Business Systems and Regional AS/BUIT teams to define support processes, ownership model and RACIs.
Additionally, the incumbent will measure performance of CoE and develop improvement plans to increase efficiency; ensure resources are skilled, prepared and available to satisfy demand; form centralized services to support BtB and enterprise ERP; identify emerging technologies to meet business needs; supports strategic or unplanned initiatives representing IT; leads Community of Practice for SCOR Domains; member of BtB Leadership Team.
Scope of Role: Geographic Breadth – Global; Business Breadth – Supply Chain Pillars - Plan, Source, Manufacturing, Inventory Management, Deliver, Quality Management and Finance; Span – Manage 50+ J&J FTEs, Vendor management; Reports directly to the AS Supply Chain VP.
Major Responsibilities: Responsible for designing SAP Global Template solutions to meet global business requirements and standards; Providing Fit Workshops and design services to deployment teams; Provide level 3 support to Global Support team; Overall ownership of the BtB SAP platforms managing the application for performance and stability, being an escalation point for outages, ensuring that the platforms are SOX and CSV audit ready, working with infrastructure partners BUIT and Business Systems to strategically define a roadmap for the platforms; Owns all GT Changes and Release Management; Resource management, capacity planning, identification and execution of leverage possibilities and driving value to J&J by efficient and effective support services and quality project delivery; Release planning, management and execution; Owns overall compliance of system SOX testing, Risk Assurance; Ensure support and App Dev coverage model is complete and has backup; Develop and maintain Global Template artifacts (Reference Architecture, BPA, Workshop materials, Key Decision, Requirements, Training, etc.); Overall team management, including regular evaluations, budget management & risk management.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required. MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred. Certification in areas of expertise is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in leadership roles within Operations/Supply Chain and/or IT is required. Demonstrated hands-on project management/delivery experience is required. Experience managing projects using SDLC is required. Health Sciences experience is required. Experience working with multiple franchises and sectors within J&J preferred. Understanding of end-to-end supply chain interactions and interdependencies with other functions, including end Customer touchpoints is required. Strong people management and development skills are required. Strong analytical skills are required. Global experience (with multiple countries, regions) and associated cultural awareness is required.
In addition, strategic thinking – perspective on how organizational change will impact business models is required. Big Picture/Attention to Detail – align strategic and tactical are required. The work environment is a primarily a normal office setting with flex locations where applicable. Domestic/International travel is required up to 25-50% of the time overall.
