Director - Social Intelligence & Analytics - L'Oreal - New York


Job Summary: L’Oreal is looking for a creative, analytically driven, and collaborative team member to help us shape and grow our Social Insights & Analytics program and be the subject matter expert associate with Social measurement for L’Oreal Luxe. He/she will have the vision, structured analytical thinking and business savvy to help build the Social Intelligence roadmap. This individual will be responsible for ensuring L'Oreal Luxe is on the cutting edge in utilization of Social Listening tracking, measurement and data visualization. The position supports and partners with several internal stakeholders, including brand marketing, integrated marketing, digital marketing, corporate media and IT across all levels (Manager/Director/VP/C-Suite).


Job Accountabilities

Social Insights & Analytics
Create and execute the overall social media measurement strategy for paid, owned and earned platforms
Identifying data-based insights to help leverage Social Media to inform Marketing development and performance online and offline
Lead development of custom models / algorithms to uncover trends, patterns and insights in data internally or with external social media measurement agencies to drive business performance
Oversee relationship with social media measurement agencies and ensure Social Insights & Analytics goals are delivered in best-in-class manner to organization, in an insightful and action-driven manner
Work with agencies and IT to develop dashboards to monitor and analyze performance
Collaborate with IT; identify, educate and embed best practices in measurement including data definitions, standards, procedures, training and documentation.
Educate division on Social Media Measurement KPI development
Support identification of leading edge technology opportunities for Measurement Strategy and Research

Proven ability to manage external suppliers and ensure top value and performance for organization
Proven ability to manage multiple projects with shifting and conflicting priorities and deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to effectively translate and present analytics data to business users at the Manager / Director / VP level.
Takes initiative, anticipates client needs/issues and works proactively to address them
Self-motivated and able to operate independently, as well as work effectively with others
Ability and drive to work in a fast paced environment under short deadlines, tolerance for business ambiguity; the ability to thrive under quickly changing situations; adaptable, with ability to meet short turnaround times.
Preferred Key Experiences:
5+ years experience in performing and leading digital analytics in an agency, research provider or consulting firm
3+ years experience in analytics for social media and engagement
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA is preferred
Advanced working knowledge of social listening platforms (Salesforce Radian6, Netbase, Clarabridge, Sysomos, etc.)
Knowledge of key social listening measurement platforms (Social Bakers, Curalate, etc.)
Experience in working with key social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Tumblr)
Proficiency in Excel and exploratory data analysis (experience with R, SAS, SPSS or other statistical packages preferred)
Experience with additional programming languages (e.g. Python, SQL) and distributed data processing systems such as Hadoop, Hive are preferred
Experience working with Site Side Analytics, Display and Search preferred (Site Side: Omniture, Coremetrics, Google Analytics, etc.; Display: DFA, Doubleclick,etc.; Search (Google Adwords, Kenshoo, etc.)
