Senior Sales Director - Electronics - Pentair - Hanover Park
Job description
Reporting to the Vice President of Electronics Protection, this position will assume regional leadership and management responsibilities in growing the Electronics Protection Platform business in the Americas. The incumbent will have full sales and marketing responsibility for the entire region and provide strong direct leadership to the platform sales and marketing teams in his/her region. He/she will also ensure alignment across all other functions including in particular R&D and Operations. The key focus of the role will be to aggressively grow the platform’s business in the US and Canada and to determine our market penetration strategy for Latin America.
Responsibilities:
Customers operate in a diverse set of vertical markets, primarily focused in the General Electronics, Communications, and Infrastructure sectors. In addition to supporting the enterprise operating results, the successful candidate will be expected to participate as a member of the Platform leadership team and to provide strategic direction cross-functionally within the Americas. Three major areas of accountability include:
1) Growth in the US and Canda. Revitalize the Schroff Brand in the region, with a focus to drive growth in key vertical markets and across the region faster than the market; Expanding Coverage both through Channel and direct; Understand market requirements, translate into operational requirements and drive development of respective capabilities; Feed into and align to global growth strategies.
2) Develop a strategy for Latin America. Today Schroff has little to no presence in the markets of Latin America. The incumbent needs to explore the market potential, assess our ability to address the market and devise a strategy how we can enter the market in order to drive aggressive growth.
3) People Leadership. Inherent in each of the other areas of accountability, the Senior Director will have to build a dedicated and passionate Electronics Protection Platform team. He/she needs to develop the team members’ ability to successfully operate across countries, cultures and functions and needs to identify gaps against best-in-class and improvement initiatives to close any performance gaps. He/she leads by example in directing the cross functional regional platform team in execution of priorities, and when necessary provides direction for modification in work plans or implementation of contingency plans as business conditions change.
4) Managing Americas Business Performance. Responsible for the development of the Americas sales and operating objectives/profit plans for the region. Establishes and implements the appropriate measurements and controls to monitor performance to commitments, identifies problems, and ensures solutions are implemented throughout the complete business operating cycle.
Desired Skills and Experience
An undergraduate degree is required, with an advanced business degree being preferred.
10+ years of experience in progressively more responsible leadership positions in Marketing and Sales/Operations or General Management and a solid track record of successful growth.
the ability to understand changing market dynamics, translating them into actionable strategy and implementing the strategy to achieve objectives.
A demonstrated track record of building world-class teams through both recruitment and executive development.
Outstanding analytic skills, a high degree of intellectual curiosity, and the ability to engage with other senior leaders in addressing complex business issues.
A marketing and/or P&L leader from a stand-alone company or a large business unit within a sophisticated public company environment possessing a proven ability to lead in a complex global organization with multiple businesses, brands, channels and “go to market” approaches.
Sound knowledge of the Electronics Industry and Distribution Channels will be critical.
