Director - Demand Generation - eBay Enterprise - New York
Job description
This key Director will play an influential role within the company's marketing management team, charged with providing both strategic leadership and hands-on, tactical execution to drive opportunities for the sales team and attendance at events. This position requires a unique blend of technical, creative, analytic, and project management expertise. The successful leader will balance vision and creative thinking with analytical rigor and a commitment to meet financial goals and generate pipeline. The Director of Demand Generation will work closely with product marketing, sales, events, thought leadership/content and other teams to drive accountable lifts in revenue. This role will support business/product lines across eBay Enterprise and preference for role to be located in eBay Enterprise NYC or Los Angeles office. This executive reports to the CMO and currently has 6 direct reports.
Responsibilities include:
Collaborate with the Product Marketing, Partner and Events teams to define the demand generation strategy and execute the associated marketing programs to drive pipeline for all lines of business and attendance at events
Develop and implement high impact, multi-channel marketing strategies to generate demand, qualified leads, and sales pipeline
Oversee the entire closed loop demand generation process, from initial awareness to hand-off to sales, and follow-up
Lead all marketing programs, including marketing automation, telesales, website, email, SEO/SEM, CPL, social media, direct mail, and more
Align marketing programs and activities with overall marketing strategy
Manage and report on on-and-off line demand generation campaigns versus KPIs with a strong reporting framework, including regular dashboards, business insights, and a process for continuous improvement
Manage CRM database, un-subscribes/opt-outs, and list purchases
Work with internal/external resources to create compelling content and assets
Design, test and execute progressive nurturing campaigns with marketing automation
Measure and monitor sales funnel activity to ensure predictable pipeline building
Optimize marketing campaign strategy and creative, using online analytic data and usability data where available
Apply response analysis and best practices to optimize all aspects of demand generation
Measure and report on effectiveness of marketing programs and campaigns, with the purpose of improving resource allocation, efficiency, and revenue generation
Function as both a leader and doer, providing subject matter leadership and insights, supporting corporate strategic objectives, as well as being a hands-on member of the team
Facilitate a strong working relationship with sales and sales enablement teams
Desired Skills & Experience
6-10 years of experience working as a B2B marketer, no less than 4-5 years in a managerial role
Expertise in B2B marketing with a medium to large enterprise focus
Experience working within commerce technology preferred
Must be a proven leader - an experienced manager of teams. Experience in building out a Demand Gen team is a plus
Solid communication skills - both written and oral
Demonstrated success in designing, delivering, and measuring cost-effective demand generation programs to support inside and field sales organizations
Demonstrated analytical ability specifically related to program measurement and ROI
Advanced knowledge of best practices in B2B marketing automation, demand generation, and lead scoring and rules-based lead nurturing
Expertise with CRM solutions (Salesforce) and Marketing Automation Tools (Eloqua or Marketo)
Demonstrated proficiency across primary formats of online and offline demand generation
Experience with database management functions, including list management, cleansing, de-duplication, data validation, segmentation, tagging, custom report creation and import/export of CRM data
Experience with targeting, segmenting and profiling of prospects and customers
Experience writing and presenting ROI-driven marketing campaign plans
Outstanding attention to detail with superior time and project management skills
