Senior Director - User Experience - FICO - San Jose


Job description
• Provide thought leadership and a unifying vision for the user experience across the FICO product portfolio
• Define and champion an organization-wide user-centric design process
• Drive the evaluation of new and existing user experiences in the existing product by incorporating customer feedback and best practices in order to continuously evolve and improve the product
• Work with executive team to promote UX best practices within the whole organization
• Oversee customer site visits to interact with customers, management and users to elicit usability requirements
• Manage and mentor a large team of User Experience professionals
• Define User Experience goals/strategy, and work closely with the User Experience, Sales, Marketing, Product Management and Development, and other stakeholder teams to execute

• Oversee the team that creates effective UX designs based on business requirements, delivering end-to-end user experience solutions for multiple products and platforms - from concepts, detailed wireframes, prototypes, to visual design comps, and detailed design specifications
• Integrate User-Centered Design practices into Agile development processes. Identify and implement process improvements and design methodologies that will make the UX team more efficient and effective
• Participate in the review of technical designs and approve process specification and design standards
Working Conditions: Will require some early and late working hours to accommodate meeting different time zones needs

Desired Skills and Experience
Education and or Certifications: Degrees in HCI, Human Factors, Interaction Design, Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Science, or related fields
Experience and Quaifications: • 10 years of significant track record in defining and delivering great user experiences for enterprise Web-based applications
• Demonstrated success in leading UX design for software product development opportunities from concept to successful launch and implementation
• Visionary with strategic mindset who can partner with others to execute the strategy
• Expertise in developing and weaving together a strong interaction design and a strong visual design to produce a seamless, effortless experience
• Ability to "see through the noise" and frame the problems, identify solutions, and move the team forward
• Experience partnering and delivering with groups across the organization including Product Development & Management, Sales, Client Services, Customers, and the Executive Team
• Successful experience in building teams, goal setting, coaching, & developing individuals to achieve targeted results
• Excellent leadership, strategic/analytical thinking, communication, problem solving, influencing, and interpersonal skills
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies
• Ability to successfully juggle multiple projects in a compressed timeline, with competing priorities
Technical Skills and Abilities: - Deep understanding of HTML 5, CSS 3, and JavaScript
- WAI-ARIA Accessibility Practices and Responsive Design
Soft Skills: • Client-focused attitude with excellent communication skills, both written and oral• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate and share solutions with fellow team members
