Senior Director - Pricing & Analytics - ADP - Parsippany
Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Senior Director of Pricing and Analytics will be managing the scope, quality, risks, schedule, and resources of MAS-wide pricing projects that will support the MAS strategic plan and pricing strategy. The position will act as a subject matter expert providing strategic pricing leadership, guidance, management and training while working with the multiple businesses providing insights for pricing analyses being performed.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work cross functionally and be a key MAS resource with sales, finance, operations and product management in the businesses to correctly position and establish pricing strategies and performing pricing projects supporting the businesses as needed
Support and make recommendations to the product owners in their development of new innovations, emerging products, services and market opportunities in the creation of effective price monetization strategies
Perform sophisticated quantitative analysis, using statistical techniques to model complex relationship between business variables, that translates data into actionable insights building optimization models to evaluate pricing opportunities
Preparation of pricing reporting, dashboards and metrics and present results and recommendations to a variety of audiences including price trending, competitor price comparisons, pricing bands and price realization, as well as market analytics
Reduce pricing structure complexity and suggest ways to simplify solutions
Incorporate findings into MAS-wide policy where applicable, examine opportunities to expand initiatives, process and best practices while ensuring alignment with relevant businesses policies. Collaborate and partner with key pricing stakeholders in the businesses to provide support, direction and facilitate new pricing processes, guidelines, playbooks, price book upgrades/harmonization and templates
Ensure consistency of MAS pricing practices. Support and facilitate training of associates to ensure successful pricing
Tracking and reporting performance results, working with the field to design new promotions
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Strategy or Finance
Master's Degree preferred
Certified Pricing Professional (CPP) from Pricing Professional Society (PPS) preferred
Experience:
8-10 years of experience in pricing-related disciplines ideally with a B2B organization working with data analysis and pricing
Previous experience at a large firm or consulting firm; providing revenue management/ pricing strategic recommendations to clients highly desirable
Exposure to one or all of the following issues: pricing systems & strategy, pricing implementation, segmentation, category management, promotional pricing, and discounting
Experience implementing large-scale efforts toward pricing simplification, standardization and adherence to price modification guidelines
Generic Skills:
Deep understanding of pricing with a general management mindset and a thorough understanding of pricing and its role in multifaceted Fortune 500 companies
Possess defendable points of view on key pricing areas i.e., pricing capabilities, price models, price setting, price realization, promotional spending, pricing experiments, and bundling
Senior pricing leader known for defining pricing problems strategically, developing credible business cases, and communicating rationale to senior management
Senior pricing leader and influencer capable of providing leadership not only managing and support
Strong understanding of information systems including pricing process from strategy to execution
Strong communication skills both written and oral. Ability to facilitate pricing meetings and drive discussions for cross-functional teams
Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
Superb ability to lead cross-functional employee teams
Expert proficiency in Excel (must be comfortable with large complex spreadsheets, developing macros; look ups, pivot tables, "if" statements), Access, VBA, Oracle (SQL) and PowerPoint
Strong quantitative and modeling skills; ability to run correlation and regression analysis; develop pricing / financial models and analyze trends
Superior research and decision-making skills founded on strong analytics, strategic thinking, and strong business judgment, strong Excel database management
Analyzing large datasets, developing robust models to inform business decisions, and communicating methodology and insights to non-technical audiences
Strong attention to detail, data research, data manipulation and mining skills
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build credible relationships with multiple functions and manage in a complex matrix environment.
Very strong organizational and time management skills
