Senior Director - Business Development - Ironwood Pharmaceuticals - Cambridge

Functional area: Corporate Development
Position description: The person in this role will have primary accountability for leading business and corporate development projects from search and analysis through negotiation and closure. To accomplish this, the candidate will lead the cross functional teams required to fully analyze and negotiate deal candidates. This is a high profile and high impact position within Ironwood that is recognized as a key driver of future value. A successful candidate will be expected to:
Identify potential partnering/ product acquisition opportunities that could meet our strategic objectives;
Lead broad, cross-functional, teams to analyze product opportunities and make recommendations to Executive Management on the pursuit of a transaction.
Develop the business case for a given transaction integrating and summarizing scientific, clinical, financial, and market information;
Act as the champion for the deal / project within the organization by corralling support from all levels of the organization.
Prepare deal terms for approval by Executive Management
Negotiate transactions consistent with the business case and Irownwood’s corporate goals
Requirements:
5+ years of business development experience
Licensing and acquisition experience
MBA
Strong public speaking, presentation and communication skills
Desired skills:
Proven negotiator
Strong analytically
Program management expertise
