Director - Marketing Science - Mode Media - Brisbane
Job description
The Director, Marketing Science is charged with delivering compelling and relevant insights on behalf of marketers to demonstrate the ROI/value of the Mode platform, develop best practices, and inform product development and go-to market strategy.

This person will help to set the measurement strategy including: first party research insights and data products, third party partnerships, case study development and research priorities.
The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in advertising/media, analytics, research and statistics as well as a strong client management background. We are looking for a highly energetic, self-starter that has in-depth research experience as well as experience working closely with an ad sales organization to develop and roll out new ad products based on Mode platform insights. This position is full time and located in Brisbane, CA.
Responsibilities
Mapping business needs to data solutions, developing analytics to support effective business decisions, and articulating conclusions through interactive reports and data visualizations
Conduct in-depth custom market research studies and advertising effectiveness studies for advertisers, leveraging internal, third party and data analysis tools
Lead client conversations and influence client measurement thinking
Identify new ways for modeling and predicting end-user behavior
Play a strategic role in developing the measurement ideology and agenda to grow partnerships with clients and agency partners
Partner closely with cross-functional teams to develop data product solutions
Conduct in-depth standard and custom research and analytics leveraging data analysis tools
Develop research to understand the relative impact of different marketing strategies across Mode Media
Lead client conversations and influences client marketing strategies
Serve as the day-to-day contact for key strategic advertiser relationships as they pertain to measurement
Develop insights across a variety of products ranging from video, mobile and desktop/browsers
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant working experience, consulting, research or analytics research experience and experience-based aptitude to use data and numbers to formulate insights
- Experience in research at a media company
- Advanced degree in statistics, economics, behavioral or social science, or business or a related quantitative field preferred
- Experience in a direct client or customer-facing role
- Excellent statistical and data analysis skills (e.g. significance testing, regression modeling, etc.)
- Direct experience working with large data-sets
- Solid track record of inspiring action based on data-driven insights
- Experience using SQL preferred
- Familiarity with quantitative research methods and considerations
- Passion for and background in consumer internet and media
- General knowledge of advertising and/or measurement methods and technologies
- Track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner
