As the Director of IT, the primary focus is to direct, manage and oversee the Information Technology department. The Director of IT is responsible for identifying and implementing technology and strategic solutions, proving strategic vision, leadership for IT operations, managing IT project priorities, developing IT policies and procedures, and assist with managing the department budget. This position provides direct supervision to the Information Technology team.
Responsibilities Include:
Accomplish information technology staff results by communication job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling and disciplining employees, initiating, coordinating and enforcing system policies and procedures and overseeing the IT department. Oversee the department’s hiring, promotion and evaluation processes.
Provide strategic direction and implementations to align with strategic vision including leadership in all aspects of IT management and operations.
Preserve assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security control structures.
Manage project priorities and delegating projects to team members. Establish goals and objectives for the department and is hold accountable for their achievement.
Develop and implement departmental and company-wide policies and procedures regarding Security, Privacy not limited to PCI but encompassing all areas as the business requires ensuring compliance.
Assist with preparing and managing the IT Department budget and capital investments.
Serve as a liaison between business units and IT communicating business and technical plans.
Desired Skills and Experience
Master’s degree in Business Computer Information systems or related field.
Minimum of eight years of related experience.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to track multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment.
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, Data Models, Data Base Designs and exposure to application development.
