Director - Site Merchandising - Walmart eCommerce - San Bruno
Job description
Manages and provides direction to managers and analysts by assigning duties and establishing priorities; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; coaching for success and improvement; guiding teams to ensure an optimized customer site experience; and measuring performance with key performance metrics (for example, site conversion metrics, internal site search metrics, visitor engagement metrics, customer survey result metrics).
Leads the development and execution of long and short-term strategies by ensuring teams are focused on meeting customer needs; guiding all direct reports on the development of strategic and tactical plans; ensuring assigned departments meet customer’s expectations and drive product conversion across online and offline channels; influencing development of long term strategy for Walmart.com website based on website data, business insights and understanding of competitor strengths and weaknesses; and driving development and enforcement of customer facing website operations standards for Walmart.com.
Ensures cross-functional alignment on key performance indicators (KPIs) by coordinating cross-functional (for example, Merchandising, Site, Marketing, Product Team, Engineering) team leaders; recommending actions needed to address underperforming KPIs; driving the evolution of website standards; providing guidance to senior managers on developing strong cross-functional relationships with key senior managers across the Merchandising, Site, and Operations teams.
Drives foundational understanding of website performance and trends by establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) for site performance and associated benchmarks; providing objective reporting and insight; leading root cause analysis; focusing the organization on meaningful metrics; defining relevant KPIs and measuring impact of customer-facing product releases; and communicating the value and revenue impact of Walmart's site investments.
Develops and executes a world-class web measurement strategy by defining and implementing best practice measurement methodologies; developing measurement and tagging strategies; deploying analytics capabilities, tools, and dashboards; establishing and maintaining trusting relationships with business partners; providing leadership, training, knowledge, and expertise on best practices in metrics; evaluating, selecting, and managing external vendors for specific analysis projects; and implementing tools and methodology.
Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.
Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.
Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks, to maximize the achievement of business goals, by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.
Provides overall direction for Site Merchandising by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.

Desired Skills and Experience
• E-commerce digital merchandising experience – management of large businesses, product / tech partnership, business owner of new features, demonstration of successful launches of large-scale initiatives
• Ability to understand and run a business, data-driven decision making
• Leadership – ability to manage broad teams, cross functional influence
• Strategy / vision – develop a customer experience of the future
• Technical understanding of back-end to front-end customer facing dependencies
• Approximately 10 years of relevant e-commerce experience
• Master’s degree
