Director - Product Marketing - AVG Technologies - San Francisco


Job description
This position is at the core of our Marketing strategy. You will take a lead role in the development and execution of our marketing campaign insights platform to drive campaign insights, maximize effectiveness and return on investment (ROI) of marketing. You will be responsible for providing trends and insights to our leadership team, making data informed recommendations for product roadmap and business models.
You take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a loyal consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across sales, legal, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end. You will also manage marketing insights.

Responsibilities:
Provide in depth market SWOT analysis
Identify market trends and assess the relevant implications on our business
Come up with market segmentation - developing strategy per segment, pointing relevant marketing channels and facilitate lead generation campaigns
Evaluate marketing opportunities and initiate programs to increase awareness of the brand and products through development of creative programs, campaigns and promotions.
Work with Product to help ensure all product communications, including user materials/guides are in line with corporate marketing strategy & messaging
Develop the vision, mission, goals, strategies, and tactics for the successful launch of new products in new markets
Develop strong collaborative relationships with internal and external teams, agencies, key stakeholders, and third-party vendor partners
Create go-to-market template to support regional / international launches

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Success developing strongly differentiated positioning and segmentation strategies for consumer products that have met or exceeded business objectives
Go-to-market launch experience for highly visible consumer products
Proven experience developing and implementing multi-channel marketing campaigns that support market segment share growth
Strtegy around the entire product line, brand, and company to see how all the elements best fit together
Strong customer focus and can identify consumer insights into new products and/or which claims are required to make your case

Requirements:
8+ years of experience in related positions with increasing responsibility
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising or related field.
Ability to create a compelling positioning/messaging strategy from the ground up
Experience creating and executing of a fully integrated marketing plan
Extensive experience leading cross-functional teams in new product launches
Solid quantitative/analytical and budget management skills
Experience with web/mobile analytics programs i.e., Site Catalyst, Google Analytics

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience launching product internationally
Experience with multi-channel marketing
Managed a global product marketing team
MBA / related credentials are strongly preferred
