Director - Media Planning - FX Network - Los Angeles
Job description
FX Networks is seeking a Director of Media Planning who will manage the media exposure metrics and monetary value of all on-air digital, and cross channel promotional inventory supporting the Networks. This position will also monitor and allocate media levels against FX Networks' programming properties.
Responsibilities
Track and analyze awareness levels against media exposure levels on all FX Networks platforms including: linear networks, FX/FXM/FXX; non-linear platforms, VOD/EST, FXNOW, FXNetworks.com. This is accomplished by cross-referencing promotional logs, research data, and inventory valuation. Review and analyze promotional schedules with VP of Media Planning and Scheduling and VP of Digital Marketing.
Supervise and execute the placement of media schedules and logs for FX Networks VOD, FX Productions EST, FXNOW and FXNETWORKS.com.
Develop, compute and present on-air and digital promotional media strategies against FX Networks and cross channel properties detailing metrics, valuations, and projected results.
Manage the integration of internal promotional planning and media schedules for FX Networks on-Air/VOD/EST/FXNEOW/FXNetworks.com with off-air paid media planning and buys.
Qualifications
College degree in communications, research, business or liberal arts strongly preferred.
Minimum 7 years' experience in the planning and placement of broadcast, cable and digital media required.
Agency experience Preferred.
Must be able to manage and perform under tight deadlines with superior attention to detail.
Strong communication skills are required. Must be able to quickly and concisely provide direction and supervision. Communication with various departments required on a daily basis is necessary. Must have firm understanding of the broadcasting, media planning, operations and scheduling lexicon.
Mathematical and reasoning skills are essential. Must have expertise in analyzing program and research data, calculating program and commercial avails, and accurately positioning promotional elements to maximize effectiveness.
Requires outstanding understanding of the network computer systems used to access research, programming and scheduling information. Familiarity with computer systems, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook requested.
Must have strong attention to detail along with the ability to collaborate and interface with both technical and creative colleagues.
Must have a current and deep understanding of the media landscape with particular emphasis on the competitive programming marketplace.
