Job description
Overall Responsibilities: The Category Director leads the development of strategies which guide Customer facing teams on how to drive total mobile, accessory and emerging category and Samsung brand revenue. This leader creates category and product plans that optimize sales and profit mix across the Samsung product portfolio. He/she develops localized sell-in presentations that support major business initiatives and category strategy. The Category Director reports to the Vice President and General Manager

Specific Responsibilities include:
Provides on-going thought leadership based on industry, customer, shopper, carrier and marketplace trends to support the category strategy
Develops category and Samsung brand revenue growth strategies from sell-out data, shopper insights and other market and customer information

Identifies ideas and events that stimulate brand awareness, purchase interest and sell-out
Owns new product sell-in and lifecycle planning at the customer
Develops sell-in presentations for the account management team from a category perspective
Owns pricing, promotion, shelving, and assortment current best approaches (CBAs)
Collaborates with customers and internal teams for effective product assortment, shelf merchandising, and promotional and pricing recommendations
Owns department and category roadmap activation at the customer
Partners to develop and enhance Customer Development Organization (CDO) work outputs and processes
Constituent in conducting of post analyses on key promotional events
Contribution toward quarterly and annual revenue, profit and market share goals
Effective category and Samsung brand revenue growth strategies
Compelling sell-in presentations
Optimized category and product plans
Active engagement with customer and buyer leadership teams

Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, economics, finance, logistics, or related field
years category management experience
Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) AND electronics OR mobile industries
