Director - Enterprise Program Delivery - CBS Corporation - Los Angeles


Job description
The Director will be responsible for leading teams to deliver project(s) that span across one or more business units. The Director will manage internal and external resources, scope, schedule, financials, budgets, contracts, and adhere to stage gate quality and SDLC control guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle. This role also includes managing issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery more specifically for Oracle E-Business Suite and other ERP and Financial Applications across CBS.

The position is responsible for leading project team(s) (e.g., infrastructure, business users, outsourced providers, database, legal, sourcing, etc.) to deliver multiple, simultaneous projects and/or significant major projects/programs that could span across several business or technology areas. The Director will effectively manage resources, schedule and quality of deliverables through the full project life cycle. The Director will also be required to adhere to the CBS delivery methodology, estimating models, risk and quality management approaches. This role will also contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery and preparing for transitional services to the application support teams.


The position has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Steering Committee, within established constraints. This role will always retain ownership from a Project Management perspective. The Director will verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost, and to achieve the potential benefits defined in the business case. This position will also manage journey and change management throughout the duration of the program. This area includes planning and managing user expectations and business process change in order to ensure that the business requirements are achieved and that the business process change is communicated and managed.


Responsibilities:

Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span multiple lines of business.
Liaise with Steering committees, VPs, Directors, project sponsors and strategic partners.
Provide on-site leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
Full Project life cycle ownership: Successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously.
Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of CBS's strategic objectives.
Manage and lead project teams; 25+ on/off shore resources
Participate in defining success criteria, metrics, test and deployment management methodologies.
Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
Build and maintain relationships by engaging business sponsors, key stakeholders, SDEs and project team to establish creditability, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives.
Project Manage and lead the planning and implementation of multiple business divisions’ Oracle implementation from 11i to R12. Take accountability for project success including on-time, on-budget, high-quality targets.
Select and manage consulting resources to plan and deliver an Oracle R12 project implementation to ensure that project is successful and that consulting resources are cost-effective and value-driven.
Interview, select, and manage key project team resources (including externals).
Hire internal resources and organize the team plan and deliver an Oracle R12 project implementation.
Provide the functional, technical and analytical abilities sufficient for conducting business analysis and project management of Oracle 11i/R12 and other financial applications, including experience with Oracle workflows, customizations, personalization and extensions.
Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization.
Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project.
Procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes.
Communicate roles and responsibilities of the project team, per the Enterprise Program delivery guidelines and as ESD requires.
Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources, and chairs the project management team meetings.
Monitor staff performance and complete performance reviews.
Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership.
Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs.
Demonstrate a functional acumen to understand how solutions meet client goals and align with industry best practices.
Act as an advocate for Enterprise Program Delivery in applying methodology, processes and tools in adopting best practices for Project delivery.
Manage project scope and manage project changes through the change management process.
Participate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders.
Manage process improvement initiatives assessing current and future state solutions contributing to improving the success of the Project Portfolio.
Lead, review, edit, and manage contracts including Master Services Agreements and Statements of Work. Change Orders for all phases of the SDLC for external consultants. Ensure that work is operating under contract constraints, scope, terms and conditions.
Act as an internal quality control check for the project; apply thorough stage gating throughout all phases of a project to driving consistency.
Accountable for planning, reviewing and editing project deliverables and outcomes including confirming that scope is well documented and achievable.
Plan and manage the transitional services to application support teams.
Coordinate and plan the overall program including pre-requisite projects, parallel interfacing source system projects across the enterprise. This includes creation of an overall master plan and integrated program approach.

Proven success in an Executive leadership role, managing large projects, with a fortune 500 consulting company
Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports business & IT strategic objectives.
12+ years of strong Project Delivery experience with strong knowledge in Oracle ERP Financial Enterprise solutions, technologies and process integration.
Minimum 5+ years in accounting/CPA experience is preferred..
At least one Oracle R12 EBS implementation for GL, AR, Trade Management, Inventory, Advanced Collections, iReceivables, iProcurement, AP, FA, Project Costing, Cash Management, GRC, etc. Multiple implementations preferred.
Minimum 7-10 years of Oracle application and financial systems project management experience
Minimum 8 years of IT professional services consulting experience strongly preferred
Possess strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across, and down multiple business and technology organizations.
Proven full Project Lifecycle ownership and solid previous experience in developing and deploying templates for medium to large size implementations to ensure predictability and consistency across the Portfolio
Excellent experience in SDLC Methodologies, such as Waterfall, Agile/SCRUM optional
Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish creditability, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives.
Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
Strong functional and technical knowledge.
Deep familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance processes, Oracle GRC is a plus.
Resource and Project Planning tool experience required such as Clarity PPM and MS Project
Consulting Experience with Major IT Management Consulting Firms preferred.
Certification in Project Management PMI, Prince or equivalent is a plus.
