Position Description:
In order to support our expanding Consumer Goods Consulting practice, Cognizant has an opening for a Senior Director – 3IB Partner. The 3 In-the-Box (3IB) Senior Director is dedicated to 1 – 3 top tier clients and closely partners with Cognizant’s Client Partner and Offshore Delivery Director to develop, lead and execute consulting engagements. This person will bring their understanding of the Consumer Goods domain and business consulting leadership skills to help assigned clients develop innovative solutions, improve their operating models and execute on strategic opportunities.
Leading multiple teams within a client organization, this individual is expected to identify, shape and deliver quality work, align with other Cognizant initiatives at the client site, oversee the efforts of other consultants, and provide a deep understanding of our client’s needs. The Senior Director – Consulting will be responsible for managing all aspects of a Consulting project as well as identifying and developing additional revenue opportunities for the practice outside of consulting.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Director – Consulting is expected to balance their time between identifying and working with leadership to pursue and close business opportunities to provide value to clients and then delivering the highest quality work to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
The primary goal of this role is to foster relationships with the client’s business and technology leadership and drive CBC’s consulting agenda in partnership with the on-shore Client Partner and off-shore Delivery Director
Deeply understand the client’s business challenges, and provide thought leadership in addressing these issues from a Cognizant point of view of industry best practices perspective
Enhance the overall “Cognizant Experience” at assigned accounts and drive further “stickiness” for Cognizant and CBC, especially in driving transformational initiatives
Develop and manage a detailed plan to enhance the overall consulting experience at each assigned account. Key elements of the detailed plan would include:
Develop and nurture relationships with key clients leveraging consulting as a competitive weapon
Increase awareness of consulting service offerings amongst Client Partners and Account Managers
Contribute consulting revenue to both the account and Cognizant business performance
Balanced mix of direct and indirect consulting with a primary goal of increasing share of direct consulting
Time will be dedicated to assigned accounts with targeted 40% of time per account (may include billable time as well).
Provide leadership across client site consulting engagements: providing industry insights and direction to clients and associates while maintaining a high quality level of service
Develop and nurture client relationships within the client organization
Have the ability to position industry insights as they pertain to client needs & requirements
Identify opportunities to sell additional work
Ensure quality of all project deliverables
Mentor, develop, and motivate Cognizant resources
Work proactively to bring the best of Cognizant expertise to their clients
Desired Skills and Experience
Basic Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum experience 12 years in business and technology strategy consulting within a major consulting firm in the Consumer Goods
Minimum 5 years of Consumer Goods industry operational leadership experience
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing technical concepts to all audiences
Ability to travel 60%+ of the time
Bachelor’s Degree required
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge of Retail / eCommerce / Omnichannel is a plus
Experience in two or more of the following process areas: Marketing, Digital Marketing, Sales, Brand Management, Supply Chain, Consumer/Shopper/Customer Analytics
Ideal candidate will have experience in toys, entertainment and traditional consumer goods
Experience leading large and/or multiple client consulting engagements
Experience developing, pursuing, and closing consulting opportunities
Understanding of business analysis frameworks and their application
Proven experience managing teams and building collaborative relationships with external and internal partners
Energy: ability to work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
Experience with and understanding of the off-shore delivery model
Strong professional executive presence
Excellent written and verbal communication
Dynamic entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative approach
MBA preferred
