Director - Legal - Employment Law - PepsiCo - New York
Job description
Attorney specializing in employment law.
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring legal compliance with employment and labor laws;
Effectively and efficiently managing employment litigation, including setting litigation strategy, oversight of outside counsel, and mediation and resolution of claims;
Providing effective counsel to the business in all areas of employment law, including EEO, anti-harassment and retaliation, wage and hour, leave rights, privacy, wrongful termination, and various state law protections;
Assisting the Company with its Code of Conduct and compliance initiatives;
Formulating and drafting Human Resources policies and training on employment law topics;
Overseeing Company's responses to administrative charges and representing the Company before governmental agencies;
Advising the Company regarding any and all restructuring activity;
Providing legal counsel related to mergers and acquisitions.
Other duties as assigned, e.g., conduct investigations, conduct client training, special projects.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor, member of theTexas Bar, at least 4 years of relevant experience preferred, strong legal skills, ability to communicate positively and effectively with all levels of employees and senior management, background and experience in employment law practice. Must be willing and able to travel 20-25% of the time
