Job description
Director of Production is responsible for excellence and originality of execution in all creative productions, and ensuring our physical, financial and human resources are well utilized and focused on the goal of executing great creative work in support of approved strategic goals.
Responsibilities
Lead production of tune-in and short form creative projects, supervise staff writer/producers and oversee freelancers.
Ensures that creative output meets the agreed plans from both creative and strategic messaging goals, and work is informed by up-to-date programming information.
Anticipates opportunities for coordination, synchronization and integration across multiple platforms, lines of business and departments.
Under the guidance of the Creative Director and in co-operation with art direction team, develops and executes ideas for new tune-in approaches, concepts and designs.
Sets and maintains high standards for the creative execution of promotion, short form content and image work.
Endeavors to get the most from our staff and from internal and external production facilities/teams in all areas of production - including edit, design, and live-action shooting.
Assign specific projects to team members, and oversee production of those assigned projects while placing utmost value on excellence in execution along with timely delivery, and meeting budget.
Creates a culture that encourages risk taking and places a premium on ideas, creativity and innovation.
Partners with CD for team talent recruitment, development, training and retention.
Responsible for finding and building working relationships with new creative and production vendors, as well as strengthening partnerships with current vendors.
Responsible for developing pool of freelance creatives who can be activated to help with specific projects.
Develops a strong and diverse skill set across the group and ensures that all contributions are valued and fosters overall team career growth.
Desired Skills and Experience
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years of experience in on-air promos, advertising, and/or brand consulting
Demonstrated hands-on short-form television production experience (promos, ads, music videos, etc.)
Superior production and execution initiative and knowledge
Ability to provide articulate and effective creative notes and other feedback
Additional Qualifications
Proven ability to translate strategic goals into innovative creative
Ability to operate quickly and calmly within a large, complex, high pressure, dynamic environment, while setting and maintaining key priorities
Experience in production for multiple platforms and screens a plus.
