Director - Product Marketing - Production Genomics - Fluidigm Corporation - San Francisco
Job description
The Director of product marketing is a global position leading a cross functional team responsible for the business success of the production genomics market, high-throughput applied genomics. The position is responsible for the entire product line responsibilities including innovation roadmap, product launch, brand alignment, and the marketing strategies and tactics that address the entire customer buying journey from awareness and interest through demand generation and finally to customer conversion and sales tools. The role manages a team responsible for product management, strategic marketing, outbound marketing, and business and market development.
Desired Skills and Experience
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage the efforts and product marketing team in Fluidigm’s Production Genomics, high-throughput applied genomics, product line. This includes ownership of the entire produce lifecycle, commercialization of new and enabling solutions, and marketing programs and campaigns that drive demand. The incumbent will work closely with the leadership members in Product Development,
Marketing, Marketing Communications, and Commercial organizations to drive these new solutions to meet and exceed technical, marketing, and financial expectations. This is a leadership position responsible for both strategic and tactical work products. The position leads a team of product managers, marketing managers, and application scientists.
- In collaboration with Business Development team members, conduct analysis and market research to understand the needs of production scale labs and incorporate findings into your product line development and marketing strategies
- Work closely with marketing line management and peers on annual and multi-year corporate marketing plans
- Manage product managers, marketing managers, and application scientists and their duties
- Manages the production genomics product line from strategic planning through execution and full product lifecycle
- Develops key product messaging and product positioning
- Develops, implements, and executes product marketing plans, materials and sales collateral for go-to-market launch of new products as well as demand generation for existing in-market products.
- Manages and develops direct reports
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in science related field with 15+ years of relevant experience in marketing leadership roles
- Proven track record of success in business results and team leadership
- Budget management
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong presentation, organizational and communication skills
- Self-starter
- Effective people manager
Desirable:
- MBA or advanced science degree
- Experience with genomics platforms, high-throughput technologies, and applied genomics markets such as clinical research, genetic health, agrigenomics, and biobanking.
