Director - Touch Display Test - Apple - Santa Clara
Job description
With the growth of iOS products, we have created a new opportunity to work on the most exciting new products introduced by Apple. We are seeking an individual to build a Touch and Display test function within the larger iOS Operations test organization. The successful applicant will primarily be responsible for transferring the Touch technology from engineering into production as well as managing the test readiness across our supply base for display technologies.
Key Qualifications
Proven record of delivering large scale complex projects.
Proven ability to work independently and to deliver high quality solutions to tight schedules.
Ability to travel to WW supplier’s manufacturing sites to work face to face with the local Test Eng teams [ expect international travel to equate to approx 30% of your time ].
Ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written mediums and to have a proven record in generating managerial reports and delivering presentations.
Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Have an understanding of Touch panels test processes, related visual/functional defects and failure analysis.
Be familiar with computer peripherals, well versed in both digital and analog electronics is preferred.
Be knowledgeable in production control processes, data analysis/interpretation GR&R, Cp/Cpk and correlation analysis.
Description
In this role you will be responsible for ;
- building a strong global Touch and Display team.
- interfacing with engineering teams early in the development cycles to ensure a smooth transition to the Operations team.
- managing the test capability / capacity of the various Touch and Display suppliers in the supply chain.
- driving optimizations in the various test processes to deliver optimal quality and yields.
- representing the Touch and Display teams at cross funct
- Work with internal and external partners on the design and deployment of complex factory automation systems. Manage detailed requirements definition, review and approve system designs and oversee implementation.
- Work with production teams and vendors to scale and maintain factory automation systems across multiple factories.
- Partner with Product Design to identify applications for newly emerging automation technologies on upcoming products, at the same time driving DFA requirements and guidelines back into product design.
Education
- BS/MSEE or equivalent with a minimum of 8+ years of experience in design and manufacturing.
Additional Requirements
- Travel: Domestic or International travel: 30-40%.
