The Role

You have the opportunity and responsibility of installing a world-class product management discipline into the organization. As the Director of Product Management, you’ll lead and manage a team of 2-3 senior product managers. You’ll need to be an excellent communicator and collaborator with a proven track record of working closely with engineering teams to successfully launch technology solutions.
You will be working with some of the most innovative companies in the world – including world-class chip manufacturers, leading mobile OS platforms and innovative hardware and software developers. You will be instrumental in supporting the development of the next-big-thing.
You will combine both your technical background and business knowledge to define the product vision, roadmap and KPIs for the systems and tools introduced to our members. Platform, SDK and API experience is a big plus. Experience working in a fast-paced small company environment will also serve you well.
You will lead a team that works closely with both internal and external customers to gather, prioritize and document product requirements to ensure SIG products meet the needs of our member customers and provide the quality experience they have come to expect from the SIG.
You are responsible for guiding the SIG tools throughout the product development cycle, focusing specifically on defining, positioning, analyzing and tailoring our solutions for the market.
The Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of 2-3 senior product managers
Own and drive the vision, roadmap and KPI’s for the product development tool chain provided by the SIG, and lead the Product Management team to drive this vision and roadmap
Develop the frameworks for competitive analysis, use case identification, requirements definition, and associated features for the next generation of tools
Engage directly with the growing Bluetooth membership and developer ecosystem to determine what we need to do, how to get there and the potential barriers to our success
Work closely with both internal and external engineering teams to drive products from conception to launch
Bridge the gap – leading a team translating business requirements to functional and technical specifications
Review technical solutions to ensure the business requirements and long term product goals are being met
As a thought leader, support the internal and external evangelism of Bluetooth technology and the tools required to support the product roadmaps of member companies
Own and manage the Product Management team budget
Lead the Product Management team to assess budget requirements for products and tools identified on the roadmap
Experience building and managing a high performance team - excellent people management, project management, communication and interpersonal skills required

Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements
Track record of building and leading highly successful Product Management team and delivering new products from conception to launch
Experienced in translating customer needs into product visions and roadmaps, and owning and driving the product roadmaps into different parts of organization
Demonstrated experience in effectively partnering with engineering to deliver world-class products on time and on budget
Rock solid foundation of critical thinking, organization and time management
Track record of effectively working with B2B partners and customers in the technology domain
Ability to merge business and technical concepts and terminology
Comfortable presenting to global technical and business-focused audiences
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Personally motivated, creative thinker and accountable team player
Committed and resourceful team leader - respectfully provides feedback and be receptive to feedback, and works to understand team members to achieve best results for the team
Love of technology and the wireless world
Additional Skills for Considerations
Experience with development platforms, SDKs and APIs a plus + BS in related technical field and/or MBA
Working with chip manufacturers, OS providers, software and hardware developers
Previous experience working with Functional and Technical specifications
