Director - Testing Methodology - Santander Bank - Boston


Job description
The Testing Methodology Director will implement major components of the US Corporate Compliance Office testing and methodology work program and to lead compliance testing project teams. The Director will also assist with the design/improvement of assigned compliance work program elements. The function supports all of the Santander Group’s US operating entities.
Conduct operating entity testing programs, visitations, analysis of regulatory developments, and recommendations for implementation and improvement of local compliance work programs.
Follow up with operating entity compliance directors regarding corrective action plans in response to testing recommendations.
Produce regular reports summarizing assigned work program elements, including operating entity work program testing.
Conduct research regarding regulatory/industry developments and recommend work program enhancements to the US Compliance Director, operating entity senior management and compliance directors.

Manage compliance analyst(s) as part of project team.
Assist with the preparation of annual compliance risk assessments.
Participate in operating entity compliance committees as directed.

Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of compliance, internal audit or regulatory experience required, preferrably in a financial services setting.
CRCM and/or CAMS Designations Preferred.
Spanish Language Skills Desirable.
Previous experience with an operating entity or line of business compliance function for a major US or international bank.
May be combined with previous legal, regulatory agency, and/or public accounting experience.
Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing activities of applicable business lines, particularly with respect to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Regulations, Regulatory and Consumer Compliance regulations.
Leadership skills in previous roles, including substantial negotiation, motivation, and consensus-building skills.
Excellent written and verbal presentation skills are needed to interact effectively with business entity senior management, unit compliance directors, and a variety of external stakeholders.
Well-developed managerial, communication, analytical, organizational, project management, testing methodology and planning skills are required.
Position requires travel to various locations as required to complete the above job requirements.
