Director - Product Management - Big Data - Vitria Technology - San Francisco

Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering and sales. He/she will ensure that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.

Responsibilities:
Driving Vitria’s OI platform for Big Data streaming analytics to address the common and unique needs of the IoT market
Define and deliver PRDs with prioritized features
Plan product testing with Engineering and QA leads
Manage internal communications for new development and releases
Serve as the internal and external evangelist for the product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers
Keep a pulse on the fast evolving market & customer needs and monitor competitors


Desired Skills and Experience
▪ 5-7 years experience in Product Management
▪ Experience with Big Data Frameworks, such as Hadoop, Spark, Storm, …
▪ Experience with Stream Processing or CEP is a plus
▪ Undergraduate degree or equivalent required in computer science or related field. MBA, MCS or similar graduate degree preferred in process, data-intensive and analytical fields
▪ Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
▪ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
▪ Excellent teamwork skills
▪ Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
▪ Examples and at least one sample of an effective document delivered in the past
