Director - Membership - American Gem Society - Las Vegas

Job description
We are seeking a Director of Membership. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the American Gem Society’s membership program by expanding its membership base, and expanding the credentials of the current membership.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Travels and meets with AGS members to encourage additional titles and certification
Travels and meets with prospective members to encourage new member growth
Establishes and implements an annual business plan to increase membership growth.
Represents AGS at trade shows.
Prepares timely annual budget based on membership development goals
Oversees membership dues collection efforts and approves adjustments
Serves as staff specialist for membership development.
Serves as headquarters liaison for the Membership committee.
Makes membership presentations on behalf of the Society.

Researches prospects for membership and follows up with in-person, verbal or written correspondence.
Responsible for sales of Circle of Distinction tickets and ads, Conclave sponsorships and Conclave supplier programs.
Continues professional development as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience
The successful candidate brings to the AGS:
Experience in a non-profit membership environment.
Experience in the jewelry industry.
Experience with conferences and trade shows
Public speaking and strong presentation skills.
Must be a strong team player.
A self-starter with outstanding communication skills, attention to detail and results oriented attitude.
Bachelor’s Degree in Management preferred and/or 3-5 years of management experience, preferably in a non-profit environment.
