Director - Oncology Marketing - Sandoz - New York
Job description
The Oncology Marketing Director is responsible for the development, adaptation and implementation of US marketing and portfolio strategy for Sandoz Oncology injectable products. Accountable for optimization of profitability, sales, market share and revenue growth in the short and long term. Provides effective matrix communication/leadership in marketing. Executes the overall strategy of the Oncology Injectable franchise. Leads the development and implementation of effective strategic and tactical franchise plans. Prioritizes appropriate targeting, positioning and messaging across all cus-tomer segments; leverages customer insights and emerging needs to create innovative business opportunities; develops and leverages relationships with leadership of strategic customers to achieve business results. Develops a comprehensive set of sales forecast scenarios and sensitivity analyses and implements demand plan for franchise products. Identifies opportunities for life cycle management; manages and controls the performance of the franchise products and proactively proposes additional actions to utilize new opportunities or corrective actions if the franchise is under performing.
Develops strategies to mitigate or build upon competitor offerings; develops value proposition based on insights to support pricing and market access strategy across customer groups. Acts as franchise champion to create focus, alignment and enthusiasm both internally and with external customers and agencies. Establishes a close cooperation and alignment with other functions such as Market Analytics, Launch Management and Sales in the development and implementation of franchise strategies and tactics. In the process proactively look for franchise synergies between Business Units. Key interfaces include: Executive Directors of National Accounts, Manager of Pricing & Contracting, other Franchise leads.
Desired Skills and Experience
University degree in business or related field. Advanced degree in business preferred. English Significant experience (15+ yrs.) in sales, marketing and/or portfolio management in the Generic Oncology Pharmaceutical and/or Branded Oncology Pharmaceutical industry. Proven ability to work effectively across a matrixed and widely-dispersed organization. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills. Demonstrated negotiation skills. Excellent analytical ability.
