Job description
Develop marketing, merchandising, and creative strategies and tactics to promote and sell products and services through the internet. Manage the implementation of e-business marketing programs and analyze effectiveness. Establish, maintain and update the e-Business experience from the viewpoint of the customer. Develop affiliated programs designed to increase exposure to business from the target audience. Establish and manage the relationships with search engines and portal sites that are strategically aligned with e-Business goals.
Position Purpose
Responsible for directing and overseeing strategic and long-range eBusiness goals including internet/alliance strategy and coordinate the effort across all IT functions to support the business strategy. Develop and execute digital strategy including organic and paid search, e-mail marketing, online advertising, alliance partnerships and channel integration. Coordinate and lead efforts of area content experts and internal staff to continually enhance and maintain an innovative and up-to-date web site which supports the overall strategic plan. Implement new technologies and capabilities to accelerate revenue growth.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Directs and oversees online marketing policies, objectives, and initiatives. Reviews changes to the online marketplace and industry and adjusts marketing plan accordingly.
Manages all aspects of eBusiness sites to include ROI, strategy, creative direction, content, on- and off-line marketing, enhancements, functionality, and revenues. Oversees development and maintenance of primary, micro and alliance sites.
Develops the annual eBusiness plan to include qualitative and quantitative goals, strategic partnerships, messaging and operational support.
Works with Sales, Marketing, and Merchandising on promotions, product launches, special offers, customer acquisition, retention and conversion, and overall content.
Recommends, develops and executes strategies including SEO/SEM, newsletters, e-Blasts, pod casts, online promotions, social media, blogs and interactive tools that enhance the user experience.
Collaborate with IT and to help design and then manage our eBusiness on a go forward basis. Oversee technical development, programming, and maintenance of the site.
Optimizes websites for conversion, revenue and profitability by developing enhancement plans to optimize the online experience during the purchasing process.
Oversees profitability of site including revenue optimization and expense management. Identifies new online development and revenue opportunities by participating across all business lines on strategy for driving on-line revenue opportunities.
Collaborate with category management to ensure best in class search on all product categories driving business to our preferred and most profitable suppliers.
Collaborate with supply chain to optimize picking and shipping of our products.
Collaborate with sales to ensure all eBusiness activities complement our go to market strategies and give our sales associates a competitive edge.
Desired Skills and Experience
5+ years of creative, strategic and online marketing experience, specifically with eCommerce, eMarketing, and management of online revenues.
Experience in B2B industry and prior P&L responsibility; international experience is preferred.
Experience managing outside vendors and technology project implementation.
