BUSINESS CONTRIBUTION:

The Director of Marketing provides leadership in marketing brand strategy and product line development to promote and support sustainable long-term business growth in CCF from product ideation to marketing. This position is responsible for designing and implementing appropriate strategies and executing new product development with specific process focus on:


Developing the marketing and development (MRD) requirement document
New product development phase gate leadership
Brand development and marketing communication strategy, budget and team leadership
Global marketing team and talent development

This position also supports strategic acquisitions and helps develop regional marketing activities and growth initiatives worldwide through collaboration with engineering, sales and product line services within CCF and other Blount divisions. The position must be a champion in team building, strategic marketing, P4 business beliefs, while leading continuous improvement activities toward world class goals. This position is also expected to be a key contributor to the overall CCF management team on any strategic issue.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Develop, implement, and communicate strategic, global marketing plans and new product development plans to stakeholders (customers, zones, engineering, product line management)
Define product trends, innovation and strategies through research, voice of the customer, sales staff and engineering, and evaluation of competitive products
Develop unique value propositions, business partnerships, and advertising toward key customer segments to increase brand awareness
Establish and execute strategic short and long-term product roadmaps
Coordinate, lead and direct activities of all key managers and coordinators within CCF Marketing to include proper communication and counsel to all CCF marketing and product line team members in the U.S. and worldwide
Keep current on competitors through improved market intelligence, understanding of distribution channels, and an improved understanding of the competitions' product offering and cost/price structures
Build and maintain productive business-to-business relationships through a variety of activities including in-person visits, social media, and marketing collateral
Participate in the team member life cycle including selection and onboarding of qualified employees, training via internal and external resources, providing performance feedback in annual reviews, coaching and mentoring, recognition, administering salaries per policy, and disciplinary action

Skills and Experience
EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in business administration, marketing, entrepreneurship, or a related field
MBA preferred

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

Ten or more years of increasing experience in marketing, consumer segments, and product line development, with leadership and management experience
Six or more years related sales/marketing or business development experience
At least three years of related experience in a corporation of significant size and complexity to include; industrial background, with experience in specific product line execution
Applied and balanced experience in integrated marketing planning and tactics spanning direct, online, PR, events, social media. Good judgment built from experience will be critical.
Proven success in market sizing, segmentation and research, with an understanding of specific market research / assessments projects that lead to meaningful business outcomes
Strong analytical and financial skills for evaluating businesses/opportunities and developing metrics
Able to develop strong relationships in the industry and with team members in order to gain an in depth understanding of the business, strategies, market forces and subsequent marketing/business development requirements
Substantial experience in business development and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) with a strong understanding of marketing tools and practices for expanding existing and future markets
Proven ability to identify and evaluate complex, ambiguous business problems or technical issues and provide well thought-out and creative solutions
Demonstrated ability to think critically; to be flexible and adaptable while responding to the changing business environment and demands as well as anticipate and influence changes
Technical skills in strategic planning and marketing, business, market and product line development, market research and planning and promotions/advertising
Understanding of non-U.S. culture is required, with foreign language skills a plus
Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally multiple times per year
