Thrivent is at an exciting historical inflection point – after effectively serving Lutherans for over 100 years our members recently voted to extend our common bond to all Christians. Our CEO has personally chartered a new initiative to pursue more diverse employees and customers. The effort is currently focused on building the organization’s cultural competence. We are looking for a passionate leader to build on this base and help us create permanent infrastructure and strategies to succeed in this exciting effort.
What you get to do:
Lead a focused team to implement existing cultural competency plans across corporate staff and a nationally distributed salesforce
Work directly with our CEO and other executive leaders to develop their individual skillsets and capabilities
Design and implement organization-wide infrastructure to support diversity and inclusion (e.g. ERGs, Councils, etc.)
Develop enterprise wide metrics to track progress
Work directly with key business leaders to develop strategies for pursuing Christian members from a wide variety of communities
Work directly with senior leaders across the organization, especially sales, to develop and implement candidate attraction strategies

What we want from you:
Energy and enthusiasm for taking on significant challenges; success managing through challenging and/or complex cultural situations
3+ years of successful diversity and/or inclusion work for a Fortune 500 corporation, building teams and leading both strategy and implementation
Deep knowledge of cultural competence, building tools and techniques
Success managing complex D&I strategic programs and initiatives within business marketplace, workplace, workforce and community
Profound understanding of broad external factors that impact external and internal D&I issues, practices and strategy
Experience leveraging appropriate external partners, programs and experts to further D&I mission and strategy
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and self-manage complex programs with minimal direction and oversight
Stellar interpersonal communications, collaboration and relationship building skills
Top-notch planning/organizing skills
Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills
Expert prioritization and multi-tasking in a high volume, fast paced environment
Comfort with ambiguity
