Director - Communications - Matrix Medical Network - Phoenix


Job description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director, Communications will be responsible for developing and executing a messaging and communications strategy. This position will also oversee the development of all content including collateral, white papers, website, press releases, thought leadership, and social media.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and manage a content roadmap that identifies content needs by audience, activity and timeline
• Plan and develop content at the highest standards to represent Matrix programs, activities, and campaigns effectively
• Write or oversee the development of original content that engages and is relevant to the four Matrix audiences: consumers, health plans, providers and corporate
• Maintain a rigorous standard of accuracy while ensuring message supports established strategy
• Identify research needs that support content goals and work with others to perform the research projects
• Support internal client requests for ongoing and/or ad-hoc projects.

• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and laws. May require interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Desired Skills and Experience
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 10 years of related work experience. Proven experience developing and managing content in technology and/or healthcare markets. 2-3 years recent healthcare industy background.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree English, Journalism or Communications or equivalent. MBA, or strong understanding on business environment preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• 2- 3 years recent healthcare industry background required.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• First rate organizational and project management skills, including the ability to work to tight, competing deadlines on a range of different projects
• Highly effective written skills including creative copywriting, editing, storyboarding, accurate punctuation and proof-reading skills
• Proven ability to collaborate and work in a team environment, including excellent interpersonal skills in an ”agency” style setting
• Excellent verbal skills including proven ability to present findings
• Strong decision-making capabilities
• Sees the big picture and make recommendations that match company’s vision and strategy

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Direct supervisory responsibilities; internal staff as well as outside consultants and/or agencies.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Occasional travel may be required

WORK CONDITIONS: General office environment.
