Director - Finance Operations and Services - VeriFone - Clearwater

Position Summary:
Seeking a smart, enthusiastic, and experienced world-class finance professional to lead our regional Shared Services Strategy. In this newly created role, the right candidate will lead the design and implementation of our finance shared services strategy and operations for a multi-functional shared services organization, initially supporting end-to-end processes including order to cash and purchase to pay cycles. This job has significant leadership accountability with a focus on data driven performance, customer focused approach, dedicated to customer delight, strong internal controls / Sarbanes Oxley compliance ownership, and strong business partnering. Through customer focus, transparency, and effective process design and optimization we will be able to deliver reduced complexity and expense to the business and offer a great place to work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of Global Finance Shared Services roadmap to achieve operational excellence and drive continuous improvement for the in-scope business processes per the defined service level agreements and to deliver the forecasted financial benefits on-schedule and within budget.

Build sustainable, differentiated capabilities through proven solutions, deep content expertise and focused innovation.
Communicate Global Finance Shared Services strategy and roadmap, and a comprehensive understanding of the future operating model, ensuring alignment across the organization.
Focus on customer service and satisfaction, including regularly publishing a holistic Shared Services performance dashboard (including metrics such as cost, quality, controls and customer satisfaction) and engaging key stakeholders in quarterly performance dialogues.
Establish a customer-centric culture in our Global Finance Shared Services organization with highly collaborative relationships with VeriFone’s key global and regional stakeholders.
Participate as a key leader of the company’s enterprise-wide efficiency programs, based on six-sigma principles, championing such methodologies and building these capabilities in the Shared Services organization.
Benchmark processes against best in class and drive the team accordingly to achieve expected cost savings through effective budgeting and control.
Continuously work with the internal audit to ensure an effective compliance and governance process and monitor progress, risks/issues, and barriers and create applicable mitigation strategies.
Partner with Procurement for third party relationship management.
Employee goal setting and development linked to overall Finance and specific job function goals.
Develop a performance management system that ties Shared Services manager and staff incentives to the Shared Services performance metrics.
Focus on talent development, building a strong team of local process managers and global Business Process Owners.

Desired Skills and Experience
Knowledge & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related discipline.
MBA, CPA or advanced preferred.
10-15 years of management and leadership experience, including several years in a Shared Services leadership role.
Oracle 11i / R12, Hyperion and BO Reporting experience and analysis capabilities and other system / tool enablers (ie. workflow and OCR tools).
Strong customer service orientation with excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical or financial information to a non-technical audience.
Breadth of understanding of Finance & Accounting, Operations/Customer Service -understanding of shared services within the context of the broader business enterprise.
Appreciation of multi-national governmental requirements in driving operational compliance and excellence.
Demonstrated track record of successful interaction with executive leaders.
Demonstrated track record of successfully leading large transformational implementations.
Experience in the successful implementation of shared service center operations.
Experience in managing multi-functional global shared services operations.
Experience with managing under Service Level Agreement (SLA), Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and performance metrics and monitoring for in scope activities.
Contract negotiation experience with business process outsource organizations.
Ability to think strategically and also act operationally and ability to manage ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of projects and strategies.
Six Sigma, Lean Accounting, Project Management and Process Improvement certifications.
U.S. Public Company experience preferred including process owner responsibilities for policy and procedures and internal SOX controls over financial reporting in the finance shared services environment.
Experience with the following processes:
Order to Cash processes.
Procure to Pay processes.
Travel and Expense Reimbursement accounting, audit and reporting activities.
Record to Report process including, fixed Assets cycle and the associated accounting and reporting activities.
Cross functional reporting for income tax, US and global (VAT) tax, statutory, state and local reporting needs associated with the processes listed above.
