POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Market Intelligence will perform or direct the research and analysis of Matrix markets, competition, and product mix. This position will also develop context around research and analysis and make recommendations on business strategies and direction. Will also oversee competitive analysis including daily news, win/loss reports, market penetration, market potential, future trends and pricing and make recommendation based on findings.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Directs a range of projects across the three key market intelligence disciplines (competition and product needs, market analysis, value and perception).
• Conducts and directs research around competitive capabilities, pricing and positioning; win/loss, and solution and feature needs.
• Reviews/determines market size, business need, and competitive moves in areas in which Matrix may want to grow
• Conducts market perception, value and positioning research to support branding initiatives. customer analytics and industry analyst relations).

• Supports internal client requests for ongoing and/or ad-hoc market intelligence, ranging from traditional market and competitor research to customer satisfaction, and more.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and laws. May require interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Desired Skills and Experience
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 8 years of related work experience. Prior market and/or competitor research experience a must. Healthcare research experience a plus. Demonstrated ability to perform internal and/or project manage external vendor studies in both qualitative and quantitative venues.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or equivalent preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Advanced mathematics and analytical capabilities aptitude
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills including proven ability to present findings
• Advanced organizational and project management abilities
• Strong decision-making capabilities
• Sees the big picture and make recommendations that match company’s vision and strategy

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: No immediate supervisory responsibilities; may change over time.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Occasional travel may be required.

WORK CONDITIONS: General office environment.
