Job description
The Senior Director of Web Strategy will be responsible for the Upromise website. He/she will develop multi-year strategy for the site and manage the specific projects within each strategy. The strategies will focus on delivering on specific corporate goals such as helping users save, plan and pay for college. The online strategy will cover online, mobile and social media as well as any new innovation. Once the strategy has been created, the Senior Director will be responsible for writing a well-written business case along with cost benefit and competitive analysis.
In this highly visibility role, the Senior Director will be responsible for preparing presentations and presenting to senior leaders across the firm. He/she will need to sell his/her strategy to senior management to secure funding. Once the strategy is funded, the strategy will be broken up in to discreet projects which will be lead by his/her team.
The online/mobile/social space progresses quickly, the Senior Director of Web Strategy is responsible for keeping up with new innovation and technology as well as what direct and sometimes indirect competitors are doing so that innovative ideas are constantly being brought to the table and senior management is kept aware of any competitive threats.

In addition to the development of the online strategy, this role is responsible for executing on the strategy and managing the production pipeline of enhancements for the sites. The Senior Director of Web Strategy will be responsible for following newly implemented business and IT processes to assure flawless execution and high quality output.
Strong project management and communication skills are required as this role is responsible for collaborating and coordinating across functions from UX Design to IT to marketing, communications and associate training.
The Senior Director of Web Strategy is the primary point of contact for the Upromise.com web and mobile sites and will directly manage and lead a team of 1 - 3 people. He/she is responsible for fostering and developing that talent to be able to handle development of the strategic 3-year plan as well as new projects in the pipeline and any day-to-day management of the platform and any issues that may arise.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product development and strategy
a. Responsible for managing all projects in the queue for Upromise.com.
b. Develop strategies for Upromise.com and will work with other business partners to help refine strategies through online discovery sessions
c. Makes sure there is no confusion or conflicting strategies for any customer facing sites
d. Team is responsible for keeping up on online, mobile or industry trends as well as competitive trends
e. Maintain a keen knowledge of the student loan market, payments and banking industries, and other relevant trends to drive the strategy for product development and ensure that the Company's products remain competitive and attractive to both schools and students
2. Project Management
a. Will work with business partners to prioritize projects in the queue.
b. Manage team of project managers and editors who are responsible for assuring that all projects follow a cohesive process to assure flawless execution
c. Primary contact with IT for QA and installation of projects
d. Drives business UAT for all online and mobile projects to assure high quality output
e. Responsible for day-to-day management of Upromise.com including any ICE or regulatory reviews, assuring content is reviewed by business experts

3. Personnel Management
a. Recruit, hire and train members for team
b. Drive team to attain objectives
c. Work cross-functionally with business and IT partners and communicates effectively

Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in computer science or internet technology required; marketing, business and project management
Master's Degree nice to have
8-10 years business, web experience and/or project-process management
5+ years direct management experience of team
