Senior Director - Sales, Steel Store - Hybrid Cloud Solutions - NetApp - San Francisco


Job description
As the leader of this new team within NetApp’s Emerging Products Group you will own and drive the sales efforts of our hybrid cloud solutions – including SteelStore, CloudONTAP, NPS, and Object storage. This position will build the team of specialists and own the business across our global sales teams and pathways.
As the leader of this specialists team, this position will not only drive the sales of these solutions but will also be a key contributor to market development and provider of important feedback on the market opportunity for NetApp.
Examples of this: this role will be at the forefront of helping our global sales teams identify use cases for the cloud, assist with designing approaches for customers that combine the best services options for them, help our sales teams/customers understand the ROI models of hybrid cloud and how to manage risk (security, etc). As with the other specialists teams, this position has much stronger market awareness and GTM skills than a traditional sales position.
This position will also be an active member and contributor to the Emerging Products group leadership team.

Essential Functions:
The essential responsibilities of the Sr Dir, Hybrid Cloud Solutions is to work directly with NetApp’s global sales leaders and partners to identify how to maximize the business opportunities and ultimately achieve NetApp’s growth goals. Specific areas of responsibility include:
• Work collaboratively with NetApp’s sales leaders and partners to define the right targets, find the opportunities and drive successful business outcomes.
• Own the global hybrid cloud business for NetApp in conjunction with the GEO/area and partner leaders and help the broader sales team members understand how to find and win the opportunities.
• Be an integral member of the Sales leadership team. Provide management oversight in strategic planning sessions with Sales leadership teams, help the GEO and pathway teams understand the opportunity, direct the selling efforts in the optimal way, adjust strategies through learnings, identify how best to drive GTM programs for success.
• Grow the team, develop talent and assume responsibility for the result.

Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:
• Demonstrated ability to lead a high-growth business and manage a talented, high performance team
• Ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership across all company functions
• Experience which demonstrates a level of expertise in technical specifications required to sell NetApp products and services.
• Proven sales leadership skills – ability to work collaboratively across sales teams and partners, proven ability to manage conflict and effectively make decisions.
• Ability to define and operationalize a strategic plan within a large company.
• Be the face of the business – to internal and external audiences.
Education and Experience:
• 10+ years demonstrated sales leadership success, leading high-growth, emerging businesses a plus.
• Demonstrated success in building and developing high performance teams.
• Broad company & business experience, especially in go-to-market roles
• Proven success managing a diversified business, global responsibility a plus.
• A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineer or Computer Science; or related field is required. A Graduate Degree is desired.
