Senior Director - Global Project Execution - Chobani - New York


Job description
The position requires a high degree of responsibility, leadership, decision making ability and self-sufficiency. The Senior Director responsibility is broad based, requiring interface with multiple interdisciplinary parties both internal and external. The Senior Director is required to coordinate and manage activities from technical, manpower and commercial perspectives. The Senior Director must be able to take charge of situations and exert authority while maintaining effective working relationships.

Responsibilities
Selects, develops and motivates staff to ensure that resources are available to provide quality services and on-time performance for the project management department.
Plans, organizes and manages the work of project management staff to ensure that the work is accomplished consistent with standards.
Directs project management activities of all projects.
Manages and/or develops budgets for the project management department.
Manages the development and maintenance of the department’s project execution group.

Collaborates closely with colleagues in the Global Engineering and Project Management (GE&PM) department, and all Chobani stakeholders in providing appropriate solutions.
Participates in meetings with stakeholders to assess their needs – both technical and commercial.
Directs preparation of accurate cost estimates and technical content of proposals related to project execution and management. Assists all departments in preparing offerings and solutions.
Deliver accurate financial figures (status reports, cost estimates, etc.) to guide decision-making activities of the Executive Team.
Maintains close collaborative relationships with all elements of the department and company business units, facilitating the understanding of the engineering team of business needs, priorities, and opportunities.
Manages development and maintenance of project management methods following company guidelines.
Manage development and maintenance of sub- contracting standards to enhance efficiency.
Works on resource allocation to meet department needs.
Selects, develops, leads, train and motivates a team of highly skilled project managers and engineers. Ensures that team members have an adequate level of knowledge of the processes and market sectors they are involved with, and understand their role in the overall project management process. Develop team members to be certified as PMPs.
Manages and directs the staff of the project management function in a manner that results in well-defined execution plans including procurement, sub-contracting, site management, financial reporting, project designs, appropriately fit to business needs, with high levels of technical competence and capability.
Participates in collaborative assessment of the department to facilitate continuous improvement in the areas of project execution and delivery.
Represents the company in industry forums and keeps up with technical advancement of the market.

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; Master’s preferred and/or 10+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
10-15 years’ experience in project management in a manufacturing environment.
Project Management Professional or ability to qualify for the PMP® designation.
Understand project management terms and systems according to the PMBOK
Effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Strong problem solving, analytical and decision making skills.
