Job description
Job Summary:
The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for the development of overall supply chain strategy, including purchasing, material productivity, inventory and logistics. This role is responsible for driving cross functionality to ensure timely execution of materials and cost goals.


Responsibilities:
Develops and drives supply chain strategy and objectives, including procurement, cost reduction, LCR strategy, new material introduction, supplier selection, inventory, and transportation
Leads the procurement function to ensure leveraging of purchasing strength to support operations excellence and materials cost reduction goals
Develops necessary processes and procedures to support robust material flow including such things as: inventory replenishment systems, KanBan, etc.
Prepares customer delivery action plans and countermeasure reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends and uses information to proactively communicate potential late deliveries. Identify root cause of issues quickly and countermeasure
Actively engaged as Supply Chain leader to understand materials contribution to production issues, quality constraints, and sales issues and actively participate in improvements & solutions
Provide leadership and direction to Materials Management associates including development of a high-performing team, talent &succession plan development, performance management, coaching, mentoring, training, resource/business planning, standards & processes
Develops departmental KPIs and objectives to ensure success
Responsible for accuracy of inventory counts and material obsolescence by implementing and managing, in conjunction with Finance, an inventory control system, capable of identifying discrepancies in inventory counts and material aging and taking corrective action to guard against inconsistencies in the future
Manages vendors and suppliers to maximize working capital, inventory, quality and delivery
Active participation & leadership for the procurement & material set-up element of new product development projects
Lead the development of sales/ops processes that allow for dynamic analysis of customer demand, sales forecasts and historical material usage to develop and execute build to order and build forecasting plans while managing working capital objectives
Develops relationships with contract manufacturers to ensure consistent and timely flow of product throughout the supply chain
Leads production planning processes in support of customer delivery and installation requirements
Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field required
5-7 years of experience in progressive materials management roles required
5+ years experience with continuous improvement methodologies, with demonstrated results
3+ years experience with production scheduling
3+ years experience managing contract manufacturing or distribution relationships
Demonstrated results in developing and executing material obsolescence processes
Experience managing strategic vendor negotiations
Demonstrated results related to material productivity and supply chain improvement
Experience developing or working with a sales/ops planning process
Experience with new product introduction
Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and web analytics
