Director - Solutions Marketing - Brocade - San Jose

Description:
The Director will be responsible for marketing solutions across enterprise and service provider market segments. Solutions address specific customer problems using Brocade's and potentially other partners' products and services.
Responsibilities:
Organize, lead, and project manage a cross-functional team composed of members from Product,
Product Marketing, Engineering, Office of the CTO, Solutioneers, Sales Engineering, Solutions Center/Lab, Alliances, Field Marketing, Sales, and other groups instrumental in marketing the solution.
Develop and align the cross-functional team around a project plan with objectives, key workstreams (e.g., segmentation/targeting/positioning, use case and reference architecture, competitive, customer business case, GTM strategy, etc.), workstream leaders and teams, deliverables, owners, and dates.
Manage to the project plan with regular team meetings and updates from the various workstream leaders on progress and status. Anticipate key roadblocks and potential issues and proactively resolve with the team and/or escalate if needed.
Develop solutions-related content, materials and tools including use cases, reference architectures, solution briefs, competitive reference guides, playbooks, FAQs, and other collateral with input/data and support from the cross-functional team.
Work collaboratively with Segment Marketing to support the marketing of the solution for specific segments
Monitor and track the success of the solution in the market, obtaining feedback from customers, Sales, Partners/Alliances, Sales Engineering, Solutioneers, Segment Marketing, Product, Product Marketing and other stakeholders. Devise a plan to evolve the solution based on feedback, as needed.
Conduct solutions intelligence and analysis, working with other groups that have intelligence at the market/industry as well as segment levels to gain valuable insights that may influence the development and evolution of solutions
Desired Skills and Experience
8+ years of product/solutions marketing or management experience.
Knowledge of IP networking, software networking, and data center solutions, implementations, products and technologies in enterprise and service provider environments.
Knowledge of applications and/or storage and/or compute are a plus.
Solid and demonstrated grasp of marketing best practices.
Ability to connect technology and innovation to customer needs and values.
Demonstrated ability to identify and realize new opportunities.
Proficient technical advisor to gain the respect of customers.
Must be able to accomplish results in a matrixed and cross-functional team environment, exhibiting formal and informal leadership skills and a strong goal / results orientation.
BSEE at a minimum, MSEE preferred.
MBA desired, ideally with a marketing concentration.
