Director - Product Management - HBO - New York


Job description
HBO Home Entertainment Director, Product Management is responsible for developing and executing product and franchise strategies to achieve forecasted revenue and profit for assigned franchises.Position works cross-functionally with other HBO and vendor departments to develop compelling, brand-appropriate and revenue-maximizing Home Entertainment products and is accountable for the management of individual title P/Ls.Other primary responsibilities include collaborating with Digital Distribution, Sales, Warner Home Video and retail accounts to develop and execute retail and distribution strategies.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
In conjunction with VP and in close collaboration with other HBO stakeholders develop US franchise strategies and manage product lifecycle for assigned franchises with the goal of maximizing long-term revenue and profit. Determine release strategy (format, street date, packaging, pricing and discounts) as well as catalog repackaging, reformat and reprice needs.
In collaboration with Planning & Analysis, Digital Distribution and International teams, drive the development of Global strategies for key franchises.
Develop compelling, franchise-appropriate physical Home Entertainment products with focus on maximizing revenue and an eye towards the competitive home entertainment landscape. Work with external design agencies and HBO Creative Services to develop product packaging, menus, enhanced content and other product attributes (ie GWPs and premiums). Works with HBO executives and talent to gain all necessary approvals.
Collaborate with HBO Consumer Marketing team to ensure advertising and promotional plans for assigned franchises align with HBO HE business objectives.

Manage US Physical franchise P/Ls for assigned franchises, ensuring spending, volume estimates, and pricing assumptions are appropriate and in-line with business objectives (physical products only). Provide volume and expense inputs for annual budgeting.
Collaborate with sales, WHV/account contacts and Digital Distribution to identify distribution and merchandising opportunities; develop, pitch, and execute retail programs. Oversee the development of retail merchandising materials.
Collaborate with HBO Brand and Social Marketing teams to develop and capitalize on targeted cross-platform opportunities (e.g. College outreach, etc). Develops publicity plans, including talent appearances, in conjunction with HBO Media Relations.
Manage and develop team, ensuring continued growth and development.
