Job description
Position Summary
The Director of Lab Strategy will be responsible for understanding and base-lining the current lab usage and then building upon that knowledge to put together a long term product labs plan and strategic direction, taking into account technology trends, virtualization, equipment depreciation, product needs, M&A and growth. They will help plan for divisional needs and provide feedback to individual product teams about cross-leverage and visibility, leading eventually to a highly leveraged and transparent usage and synergistic model across the Division.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities
Create long term lab and equipment usage strategy and execute on it across Product Groups
Drive policies that ensure consistency, efficiency, leverage and innovation

Build awareness and message to the organization developments regarding competitive and complimentary products.
Maintain tightly integrated coordination with Product Groups

Qualifications and Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills
Develops and nurtures relationships with appropriate leaders of Product Groups to understand their roadmaps and long term needs
Identify and drive new processes and develop resources to meet organizational needs

Education, Certifications, Training, Experience
BS degree or MS degree or equivalent in engineering, preferably computer science or electrical engineering
Minimum of 7+ years of work experience is required for individuals holding a MS or higher degree in one of these fields
At least 5+ of these years should be in a technical and people management or leadership position
Expertise managing multiple programs and initiatives to success
