The Cloud Infrastructure Services team is a group of top-notch systems developers who are developing high quality and high performance distributed systems and services. We are advancing the state of the art in Internet technologies and working on some of the biggest information and communication systems in the world. We are building infrastructure services to enable sub-minute dynamic provisioning and elastic scaling by building a service abstraction for Infrastructure as a Service and, as an extension, Platform as a Service.

A Lot About You

We are looking for an experienced Technical Leader to own development of Infrastructure Services at Yahoo. You will lead a smart and talented team of engineers and architects. In this role, you will work very closely with top tier developers, designers, product managers, and architects and work cross functionally with partner teams across Yahoo. You thrive in a dynamic fast paced environment.

Your Day

· Provide Technical Leadership to design and build fault-tolerant, high-performance, scalable systems and influence architecture, design, and implementation across adjacent teams

· Hire and mentor team members in software development and technology

· Lead Software Development following Agile methodology

· Collaborate with various teams including operations, product teams, and development to define requirements, interfaces, and implementation approaches and solutions

· Be willing to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality

You Must Have

· BS/MS CS or related and significant commercial software development leadership experience as well as a track record of individual technical achievement

· 12+ years of software development experience and 9+ years of technical management

· High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

· Superior verbal and written communications skills

· Strong technical depth and understanding of developers and operations needs

· Preferred: Experience with Infrastructure as a Service, Virtualization, Cloud services, DevOps, Monitoring, open source, web services, OpenStack, Software Defined Networking, CI/CD, and/or development tools
