Director - Online Learning - Loyola University - Chicago
Job description
Loyola University Chicago (LUC) seeks applicants for a full-time position as Director of Online Learning to coordinate and oversee online academic programming across the University. LUC has offered online programming since 2002, which currently includes 19 graduate programs, 15 professional certificate programs and 7 undergraduate programs for adult learners.
Working with academic leaders and technical support staff across the University, the director will be responsible for the coordination and oversight of online academic programming for all academic units.
This would include undergraduate, graduate, certificate and professional development programs and would entail working collaboratively with enrollment marketing, admissions, student services, as well as units providing faculty support and professional development.
In addition the Director of Online Learning will be responsible for maintaining the Online Learning website, overseeing compliance with state authorization regulations, and working with appropriate campus offices to design and deliver a method for assessing student retention, performance and success in online courses.
Desired Skills and Experience
Required qualifications include:
- an earned doctorate or master's degree; (doctorate preferred)
- four years of related experience in higher education;
- experience teaching online and commitment to online teaching and learning;
- expertise in online technologies for course delivery, synchronous communication, instructional design, etc.;
- experience building course content in Sakai or similar LMS;
- familiarity with regulations regarding state authorization of online programs;
- the ability to work with faculty and administrators on program development;
- project and team management skills.
