Position Summary
The Director of Mobile Engineering will be instrumental in architecting; designing and implementing our ambitious mobile technology strategy for multiple solution teams. This is a unique opportunity to work for an established, financially sound company in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial start-up capacity.

You will be responsible for the design and implementation of the company wide mobile technology platform, and first sets of mobile offering to our customers. This is a hands-on, results oriented leadership position with innovation and execution. The successful candidate will be comfortable leading the day-to-day software development efforts as well as creating and executing the strategic technology vision.

Primary Duties
Evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms (including tools, application frameworks and the deployment stack) for delivering mobile solution in SaaS environment.
Lead overall software development activities of all mobile-based activities – development, code review, testing, performance testing, deployment, and support.

Establish and supervise the software development process, setting short-term objectives and assessing progress in an agile and startup mode.
Help execute “mobile first” and “responsive design” strategy to ensure our products are mobile friendly.
Share knowledge, mentor, and educate the organization’s, partners, customers, and stakeholders with regard to company mobile technological vision, opportunities, and challenges.

Job Requirements
8+ years of experience managing application development projects, with minimum 2 years (3+ preferred) in mobile
3+ years of experience working and leading agile scrum teams in software development
Demonstrated ability to envision and design mobile-based applications that meet consumer needs
Technical skill with iOS, Android, CSS, HTML, Javascript frameworks, and AJAX.
Experience with creating native mobile apps as well as using cross platform tools
Demonstrated experience in mobile services and web services
Prior experience working in a start-up company with proven ability to balance software development complexity with time-to-market delivery demands is a plus.
Scrum master experience is a plus
Python experience is a plus
Some traveling required
