Director - Marketing Production - Chico's FAS - Fort Myers


Job description
The Director, Marketing Production manages the scheduling and production of direct mail, in-store signage, and other collateral needs. Partners with the design team to ensure creative content. Maintains the overall quality plan prescribed by the Creative/Art Directors, which includes planning, quality assurances and quality controls for all production projects. Develops and manages strong relationships with external vendors.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Directs and strategizes catalog formatting and oversees document through rounds of editing; controls stitch-in (coupons) providing both content and production approvals
• Creates templates on layout and design within established aesthetics to produce various collateral materials: signage, postcards/coupons, etc.

• Establishes Quality Assurance and Control for all projects including the review of production and manufactured samples, coordination of changes/adjustments with vendors and the troubleshooting of production/implementation.
• Reviews internal proofs, random and composite proofs directs all mechanicals for optimum quality; reviews, socializes, and approves all production mock-ups
• Supports the design team and Art Directors, aiding in the composition and preparation of presentations
• Oversees all technical specifications for each project; directs schedules and maintains production workflow
• Establishes effective relationships with various pre-press and printing vendors to proactively determine and solves production-related issues
• Strategizes and maintains the sign budget for front line and outlets; maintains raw material inventory and prepress production measurements and standards
• Manages maintenance and upkeep of asset archives, asset management, research material and documentation

Desired Skills and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors degree in Marketing, Graphic Art or a related field; experience in specialty retail environment strongly preferred
• 7+ years in the graphic design industry with hands-on production and implementation experience
• Full understanding of the workflow and production issues of a complicated retail environment with previous experience in quality control
• Ability to produce hands-on, error-free artwork, mechanical and deliverable preparation
• High degree of understanding of both the creative and production processes to ensure creative intent
• Experience in graphic design required with a knowledge of professional typesetting
• Proven track record on building cooperative, productive relationships with internal business partners, Executive Leadership Team and external vendors
• Strong scheduling experience
• Detail oriented and flexible; able to juggle more than one project at a time
• Excellent managerial, organization and leadership skills
• Strong oral & written communication skills with the ability to communicate with and present to executive management.
• Extensive working knowledge of prepress and printing processes and techniques
• Strong working knowledge of Mac
• Extensive working knowledge of all commonly used design and production application software: Adobe CS3, including Indesign Style Sheets
• Possesses a strong understanding of budgeting skills, creative, production and implementation processes
