Director - IT - Hercules Offshore Services - Houston
Job description
Plans,coordinates, directs and designs all operational activities of the IT Department; Provides direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations; Collaborates directly with the executive management team and decision makers in other departments to identify,recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization; Develops and manages applicationportfolios for each department and attains all IT service level agreements for the user community within the organization; Helps to provide vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives across all areas of the organization
Desired Skills and Experience
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management Information Systems or Computer Science
At least 10 years experience in a national or global IT Management arena
Certifications or Training in the following areas: Telecommunications, Infrastructure, Application Development & Design (SDLC)
Experience in strategic planning and execution
Experience in IT governance, policy and procedure management
Experience in outsourcing to application service providers and collocation data center facilities
Considerable knowledge of business theory,business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations
Substantial exposure to data processing,hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, and outsourced systems,including hosted environments, virtual infrastructure and ASP services
Good understanding of computer systemscharacteristics, features, and integration capabilities
Experience with systems design and developmentfrom business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management
Proven experience in IT planning, organization,and development
Excellent understanding of project managementprinciples
Superior understanding of the organization’sgoals and objectives
Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solvingbusiness problems
In-depth knowledge of applicable laws andregulations as they relate to IT
Strong understanding of human resourcemanagement principles, practices, and procedures
