Director - Imaging Shared Services - Guardian Life - New York


Job description
The Imaging Shared Services Director is a newly created position to lead the new Enterprise Imaging Shared Services organization and to provide strategic direction to the Imaging organization while delivering on financial commitments and ensuring alignment with business deliverable.
This Director will build the new organization, work across multiple businesses and functions to centralize the imaging function, identify additional opportunities to convert paper based functions to imaged applications, and create a strategic roadmap. This Leader will also have accountability for leading the ongoing imaging operations and delivering excellent customer service by consistently meeting required Service Level Agreements. This position requires experience, energy and discipline to drive aggressive change programs while maintaining a solid partnership with the business.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead successful centralization of appropriate Imaging functions:
Assessment of current operating model across all profit centers.
Development of shared services operating and organizational model.
Creation of Enterprise Imaging strategic roadmap.

Lead ongoing operations of Enterprise Imaging services organization:
Develop, socialize and implement imaging shared services strategic roadmap.
Provide clear direction and priorities; enlists team members in a common vision of the group and its role in the organization which inspires commitment and buy-in.
Develop, use and deliver on key indicators, metrics and management systems to monitor performance against service levels, and drive proactive improvements.
Drive consistency and discipline in the operational processes performed.
Employ industry leading practices and determine organization standards in the areas of operations and services.
Drive process improvements across the organization to reduce cost.
Partner regularly with cross profit center teams, review deliverables, and manage accountability for execution.

Consolidation of imaging services
Convert separate imaging functions into a shared service for Guardian
Manage day to day operations of Imaging Shared Services
Deliver on Service Level Agreements to meet internal business customer and external customer demands
Identify and support conversion of additional opportunities to imaging
Drive operational efficiency and reduce business continuity risks
Lead continuous improvement of imaging operations
Continually improve cost, quality and delivery of Imaging services

Desired Skills and Experience
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
7-10 plus year’s operations management experience preferred, to include leading imaging/mailroom operations, and the underlying technologies that support the operation.
Transformational leadership, people management and change management skills with demonstrated ability to influence senior management are necessary to accomplish the objectives (process and technology optimization, business continuity risk mitigation, and simple and scalable architecture).
Maintaining excellent customer focus is essential as this position must ensure consistent achievement of required Service Level Agreements.
Skilled at managing and prioritizing complex and conflicting demands with tact, diplomacy and fairness at senior management level.
A proven leader in training and developing high-performing teams; a proactive leader and effective coach committed to the development and engagement of their team.
Ability to understand business objectives, clear thinker able to develop long term strategies and able to translate them into actionable plans and ensure implementation.
Working cross functionally – ability to inspire, influence and motivate individuals and groups to achieve results.
Effective problem solving and strategic decision-making skills, good insight and judgment, takes an innovative and creative approach in solving problems.
Show personal drive and enthusiasm which motivates the organization and inspires the highest professional standards, client-focus and demonstrates personal commitment through every action.
Proven ability to recognize business service needs and deliver upon them.
Strong analytical, creative thinking, critical reasoning skills with high degree of intellectual curiosity.
