Director - Product Management - Juniper Networks - Sunnyvale


Job description
We are seeking a passionate and highly motivated individual to join the Switching, Security & Solutions Product Management & Technical Solutions team. This individual will be responsible for network management and security management product strategy, product definition, market analysis and requirements, pricing, packaging, promotions, forecast and revenue plan. This role includes leadership, strategy and execution for network management products, security management products including security policy management, automation, analytics, as well as API strategy and OpenStack integration.



This individual will have broad responsibility for working across Juniper, with field sales and channel organizations and with 3 rd party partners to drive strategy and implementation of our management and orchestration solutions. This role includes managing a small team of product line managers.
The candidate will be a key member of the S3BU Product Management leadership team that defines the future of Juniper’s management product offerings. This role is customer facing and requires an individual with strong communications skills. The candidate must interface effectively with different functions across the company including Product Marketing, Technical Marketing, Product Engineering/Development and Finance to define the product strategy and roadmap and execute on it. We are looking for a highly energetic and driven professional with a proven track record of successfully defining and marketing products in the Enterprise and Service Provider Data Center and Campus networking space.



Key Responsibilities:

Define Market Requirements (MRD) – Define future product strategy with sustainable differentiation based on customer needs, competition and market analysis
Present to and co-create with customers to increase adoption of products
Work with engineering to ensure successful delivery of product on schedule
Support Field Sales – support key account field sales teams and channel partners. Work with team to support sales process and drive the overall customer engagement model.
Develop competitive materials and SE/Sales support materials as well as customer presentations
Work closely with Product Marketing to produce and deliver effective sales tools, presentations and collateral
Customer/Market Research – gather customer feedback to understand key issues/needs and trends in customer base. Conduct market analysis to get broader sense of the market and competitive product use.
Create Product Value Proposition – effectively position products to attain or maintain leadership position in marketplace
Define Product Pricing Strategy – define pricing for existing and future products
Sales/SE Training – train internal and external teams for effective selling

Job Requirements:

Must have 5+ years of solid product management experience in networking and network management domain experience, and knowledge of emerging networking technologies
Must have experience managing teams
Must have 15+ years of work experience
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Must have managed multiple product releases through entire lifecycle from conception/definition to pricing, sales support and deployment
Must have demonstrated successful experience managing product strategies in a high growth environment
Strong technical and market knowledge in networking technology
Must have a BA/BS degree, MBA strongly preferred
