Director - Automotive OEM Development - TrueCar - Los Angeles
Job description
Our Automotive OEM Development team works directly with auto manufacturers to provide sales and marketing solutions through our network of car buying programs. Reporting to the Vice President, Industry Solutions, the Director, OEM Development will oversee and develop relationships with OEMs. This newly created position will work with a variety of internal and external teams, while strategically coming up with new ways to develop and launch products across different channels to build business amongst OEMs and TrueCar.
Responsibilities:
Manage and cultivate TrueCar automotive manufacturer (OEM) client relationships in the Midwest region.
See as well as expand existing OEM business, identifying areas where TrueCar can provide a solution help OEMs achieve their sales objectives.
Lead OEM contract negotiations for both new and current business agreements. Draft, deliver, and execute agreements ranging in value from $50,000 to $10M.
Manage and guide the OEM Development Manager(s), who assists with day-to-day program activities and client communications.
Collaborate with other departments such as Product, Partner Development, and Pricing teams to optimize current programs and launch new projects.
Work with closely with ALG counterpart on joint OEM opportunities.
Stay abreast of industry news and trends.
Attend industry conferences /events to increase the company's visibility in the industry and generate more business opportunities.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
10+ years experience, preferably working at or with an OEM (Product Planning, Pricing, Strategy, Marketing, Sales, Brand or Product Development, or similar)
Understands OEMs' business drivers and complex organizational structure/relationships
Comfortable presenting to executives
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to put together and present a cohesive, strategic proposal supported by data
Self-motivated team player
Be able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
At or willing to travel weekly to Midwest OEM clients
Willing to travel to the clients' offices, possibly up to 70% of the time, depending on location
BA/BS required
